I haven't done this either. But I remember reading restaurant reviews here and looking at House Without a Kay at the Haleukulani near Waikiki. They had dining in the beach, and although not private, it looked very romantic and cozy. A little too much so for visiting with our kids, so I scratched it from my list. Google that too and see what you think, if the private ones end up being too expensive.
