I need a very close hotel with a good pool. I love Hojo but no ent rates for August. We usually spend all afternoon at the pool and napping so I would like something really close with a nice pool any recommendations. I may just do DLH but would like to find something a bit cheaper.
Thanks!!

Ramada Maingate would be one. It has lots of trees around it and some lounge chairs. So does the poll at the Candy Cane Inn.

But really everything on Harbor is plane, Disney offers the only highly themed pool areas.

The Anaheim Sheraton is not really close, but it has its own really convenient shuttle.

The pool area is lovely.

We liked the pool area at the Tropicana, the pool itself was huge and so was the hot tub. They were right next to each other so the girls could swim while we soaked our tired achy feet. :)

Don't know if you have kids, but the quiet pool (no kids allowed) at the Anabella was awfully pretty, at least from the outside. :) But that's not as close as the others mentioned. And I don't know what the main pool looks like.

the hilton anaheim or marriott, both next to the convention center, have nice pool areas. you can walk to the parks, but it's a longer walk. certainly do-able though. they should be cheaper than the disneyland hotels, but you can't beat disney hotel pools. plus, just an fyi, the neverland pool at disneyland hotel will be no more after this summer, as they are remodeling it.

I bet the HoJo even without the ent rate *you can still save 15% with an ent card anyway* will be cheaper then the DLH...

The Camelot Inn has a 'unique' pool. On the 4th floor. Nice place to watch the fireworks from.

Nothing is wrong with Hojo it's just they have no ent rates for the month we are going if they had the lower rates I would pick it hands down.

I'm sure they'll come for some of August ~ in fact last mid July I got it for 2 nights *a Tues & Wed night ~ I had kept checking and they didn't come up until the Mon. prior to our check in *1 day before ~ you could make a reservation some place else and cancel if the ent rate shows up....

We are just back from staying at the Camelot Inn, and although it doesn't have a theme or plants the pool was nice. It is on the fourth floor where you can see fireworks. There is a pool and a hot tub. We didn't have the opportunity to use it, but watched others enjoying it.

Honestly, DLH will be far more expensive than the Hojo. As another poster said, the ET card gets you 15% off if your days don't appear. And my child loces their pool and play area.

Why is there only one day for ent rates in september? And not many for august? Do they historically not have amny dates in those months? Or maybe will some open up before then?

Keep in mind that it's still only June. Just because the E.T. rate isn't up for your dates in August at the moment doesn't mean that they wont be. Sometimes they even get added days before you leave. But I get needing to know sooner rather than later. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to go crazy before the September rates start coming out. But I still prefer it to any hotel on Harbor, even without.

This quote is from the Entertainment.com website: "Entertainment discount reservations will be accepted until the hotel projects 80% of their rooms to be sold for your requested dates." I have always assumed HOJOs follows this policy, but I don't actually know. This can explain why the rates come and go and why some dates never seem to have the rates.

I have actually been surprised so many summer dates have been available. No reason to give up hope, just make sure whatever price you have booked at is something you can live with if the rates don't become available. Then if things change for the better it's like a bonus. Last year when we were there in August, the rates became available for the second half of our stay, so we got a reduced rate on our last 2 nights. I had been willing to pay the higher price we were paying already since it was important to us to be there for DS's birthday and since we feel really comfortable at that hotel, so getting the rate for our last 2 days felt like "free" money to enjoy.
