Just booked 2 rooms at ASMu for next month. Would like to be close to bus stop and have 4 kids so would like some cool theming. Any recommendations? Also,we stayed at ASMo last year but I can't remember, do the All Stars have their own busses or do they share? Thank you!

I have not stayed there yet but my upcoming trip is planned to stay at ASMu so I have been doing as much reading up on it as possible. So take my answers with that in mind... I think I'm right but someone might correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope they do so I can know that myself! LOL)

The All stars do share buses.. but I think they are only with the other All Star resorts- not other resorts like moderates and deluxes?
But from what I have read here on the boards and other websites- the transportation is fairly good especially for the price of a value resort! (some have even said they have longer waits at moderates or deluxes than the All Stars resorts!??) I would assume that busy seasons would greatly increase your wait time for buses or for buses that aren't full. :(

I don't know about cool "theming" but to be close to the foodcourts and bus stop- you would either need preferred rooms (costs more) which are in Calypso buildings OR just hope for the best and try to get a room in the Jazz buildings? Those are the closest.

As you can see by my signature, I've stayed at ASMu a few times. As far as being the closest (without paying extra), request Jazz or Broadway. Broadway is just beyond Jazz and I love the themeing. Those are the only 2 buildings I've stayed at. Country Inn is the farthest out you can be so stay away from them if at all possible!!! :smooth:

I've stayed in both Broadway and Rock. Both are about the same distance from Melody Hall (food court/gift shop/front desk/busses). I'd say Jazz would be the best to stay in, however, I've always requested it and never gotten it.

Have a great trip!

Jazz is the best non-preferred building at ASMu, as far as location, but if you do get assigned to Country Faire, try walking across the parking lot to Movies, it's about the same distance :-)

What would be the advantage of this? Would you be closer to ASMo food court, bus stop, etc.?
Thanks!

Yes, we did this at AS Sports. When we stayed in the Home Run Hotel we could see the AS Music bus stp from our window so we decided it would be faster to walk to their bus stop than the Sports bus stop, which it was. Since it was closer to the bus stop, it was also closer to their food court, gift shop, etc. but since we had refillable mugs already from Sports, we never really used the Music other than for the buses when we didn't want to refill our mugs.

Actually, the All-Stars Mugs can be used at any of the All-Stars and the Movies food court is a little nicer than the Sports or Music food court.

Thanks, that's good to know! We're going back in February so we'l have tobrin the mugs. When e bught them we were tod we could only use them at Sports, but we saw plenty of people using Music and Movies so we thought maybe you could but werent to sure about it.

All are great but I would recommend trying to get in any other building than Rock and Country Fair. They are the fartherest (is that even a word?) out. We have been in Broadway (both buildings) and they are not bad.
I LOVE the ASMu. You can't beat the price and we have always had extremely clean rooms. Out of 25 night I have stayed there in the past 2 years I have only had 1 little decoration and no towel animals. At WL we got them every day. Believe me for $100.00 diff. I can live w/ out towel animals.

One other thing about ASMu--you might want to request a room on either the 1st or 3rd floor of whatever building. There's room-to-room noise there, so the fewer rooms around you, the less noise. The 2nd floor is, obviously, surrounded.

BTW, we're just back from ASMu and we had adorable towel animals from our mousekeeper!

--miffy--
