I thought this might be a good thread to start. :)

We don't have kids, but I am thinking about ordering alot of kid-sized CS meals during my next trip. I love that they come with grapes & I found many of the adult sized meals to be too big. I also found a few TS meals in the kids section that seemed appealing to me (like the quesadillas at San Angel Inn). I am interested in seeing how big the sandwiches and portions are for the kids meals.

Plus, I'm sure alot of you with kids might want to see these as well.

So, please post your photos of kids meals at WDW. CS & TS meals at parks, resorts, DTD, etc...

Thanks!:goodvibes

I don't have any photos to add, but I just wanted to say great thread idea! Kids meals are often the way to go for smaller portion sizes or a different menu selection. For those trying to watch portion size, it's so, so easy to overeat when you're eating restaurant food 2 or 3 times per day. I, too, am curious about the portion size of the kids meals.

I agree!:thumbsup2 & also a good thread for parents to see what to order for their kids.

**When you post, please note what the meal is & what restaurant it came from!

i do not have any pics to add but just wanted to say that I am interested in this as well. I hardly eat at all at home and then when I get into the parks~with two kids~ Well...my brain just doesnt tell me to eat :)

I did see where some places offered salad with chicken over it? Rather than just hamburgers, hot dogs etc...

I still go to McDonalds and get the kids happy meal with a hamburger and apples :) lol.

Im wondering though...would they let you order a kids meal? That should make for good conversation on here... ;)

I don't have any pictures, I just wanted to mention that ordering kids meals can be a great choice if you are going for portion control. I'm diabetic so I try not to eat too many carbs in one meal - a kids portion is often much better for me. I've never had a problem ordering from the kids menu.

I've asked this question on here before. Anyone can order a kid-sized CS meal. They don't ask who it's for & the child does not need to be present when ordering. With respect to TS meals, an adult an order a child's one but they charge an extra fee. I am strictly referring to OOP meals here, we do not typically do the DDP, so I'm not sure how that works.

Ok, bump for kids meal pics anyone??:confused3

I found a few on Yahoo & Google images, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post those??

No pictures but the Kid meal Pizza deal at Pizza Planet at H.S. is probably the best deal at Disney. You get a drink, Pepperoni Pizza, Salad and Snack for $5.99. We usually eat there at HS since nothing has "wowed" us there.

Very filling for $5.99, which is pretty hard to do at Disney.

No photos here either. My sister who is all of 95 lbs doesn't care for any of the menu items at Whispering Canyon (yah, she's fussy) so she ordered the grilled fish from the kids menu and the portion was fine. No problem, they charged her the kids price as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that the kids chicken nugget meals are different nuggets than the "adult" chicken breast nuggets.

Not impressed with those kid nuggets at all.

They are different nuggets? That's good to know. Are they more like processed Mcnugget type chicken? I figured they would be the same but less portion size.

The kid's nuggets are more processed. I wouldn't eat them, but my kids don't complain! I find that the kids TS meals offer a good amount of food, but the CS meals are on the small side. On our last trip, I had to start ordering my 6 year old son the adult CS meals because he was always still hungry after eating the kids size portion. I also noticed at Pizza Planet & Pinnochios, they give the kids a much smaller pizza than the adult size. All of my kids were still hungry after that one!

I don't have pictures either but I wanted to comment on the size of the portions for CS kids meals. I don't see really how any adult or even an older child would be even slightly filled after these meals -- the grapes and carrots come in little plastic bags that are about 3" square. I saw a picture of a kids meal on the dining review board that had 2 slices of a rolled and sliced tortilla with turkey and cheese - about the size of 50 cent pieces and maybe 1/2" thick. The pizza at Toy Story Pizza Planet is about the size of a CD or DVD, the kids chicken nugget meals come with 3-4 nuggets about the size of a McDonald's nugget. Now the table service portions are good but I don't believe my ds7 or dd5 will be full after the CS meals so I plan to buy extra food for them.

I remember ordering the meal at Pizza Planet and my 2 girls (5 and 2) were able to split it - has it gotten smaller???

We just came back, it's slightly smaller than the adult version but still bigger than a dinner side plate. With a salad and Snack it is filling enough.

Just an FYI you don't have to stick with the pre assigned sides.... you have more options.

Both myself and my mom like to order a child's CS meal at times. Sometimes I just feel like a smaller meal. I think the portion is a perfect size, especially in the hot summer, I'm just not as hungry.

What kinds of breads are the sandwiches served on? Do they serve the kids meals on the multigrain bread or are they served on cheap white bread rolls?

I love the idea in theory - I am a fan of portion control and all, but most of the kids meals I saw just looked awful. No thanks! :sad2:

The kids meal doesn't have the option of a salad - it's carrot sticks, grapes, or a cookie and the kids pizza is much smaller than the adult pizza.

That might work out just fine for me-during our last trip, I found the adult sized pizzas to be too big. & I love grapes!
