Please please put on those autograph books

Last Friday I was leaving the MK when I found an autograph book laying on the ground near the 75 Mickeys. It was filled with autographs on every page, so I knew some young child would be soooo sad to find it missing. Fortunately, they had filled out the inside cover with the home address and phone number. When I took it to a security guard at the front gate, he took it right away to Lost & Found. But I knew if the family didn't find it missing before they returned home, that it would be sent to them in the mail.
That made me feel better........
I have taken to putting all those "free" address labels I get in the mail on everything, in case it gets lost.

Great idea! Thanks Something so simple, yet I hadn't thought of it. I'll put those labels on my kids two address books and anything else we bring! Thanks again!

i have picked up and put it in the mail myself. I am not SURE they DO get mailed to their owners. Not one person has ever posted that their lost autograph book was returned by the parks.

also be sure and put your name (and possibly address) somewhere on your pressed penny book.

DS lost his on our first trip and we had to search thru several dozen of them at lost and found until we found his. The name would have saved time.

We also do this with our disposable cameras and with cannisters of film. After I saw a camera just sitting on a bench, with no name on it, I started putting my name on mine!!

I print labels with my name and cell # for all of my items. That would allow someone to call while we are 'hopefully' still there! My biggest concern is losing my film, so the labels went on every roll! Won't have to worry about that this year, as I am getting a new digital camera!

We lost my ds's Autograph book on our trip a couple of weeks ago. We were hoping he didn't notice. Two days after we got home it arrived in the mail WDW lost and found mailed it to us.

No such luck here. I DID have my 6 yr. old son's name & address & email address in his autograph book. He lost it last May at MGM and it has never been returned or even found.... I am still so depressed about it since not only did he have many many autographs, but much more important I had "scrapbooked" pictures of him with each character on the opposite page from each autograph over the past 3 trips! I now don't have ANY of those pictures
Lesson learned - save pictures on a back-up CD just in case.....

I just wanted to add that Walt Disney World Lost and Found will automatically mail out (almost) any item that has a mailing address. If you can, it is to your advantage to put your address on your autograph books, disposable cameras, and even favorite stuffed animals. It is always very sad to see a full autograph book in the lost and found with no name or address.
