The formula for figuring out a used annual pass and then upgrading it to a PAP. I KNOW someboy here knows that!!
Also, does anyone know (besides Disney) who sells Disneyquest annual passes?

FYI Disneyquest is not a plus feature.....

I think I have read previously that they prorate the difference in an AP and a PAP & charge the prorated cost for the time you would have remaining on the AP. Not sure though, but this gives you a bump. I'm sure someone here knows.

The DIS knows all! :teeth:

A little more info in case someone knows math! LOL
Our passes expire April 26th.
We used them 7 times on the first trip and 10 times on the next trip.
I want to see how much it would be since we plan on doing Disneyquest alot (since the parks close early) and my DH and I want to go hang out at PI. We never go so we'd like to this time around.
Thanks!

To upgrade, the difference is based on days left, not days used. So you would need to take the price paid divided by 365 to get your daily rate. Then take the price of a PAP and divide it by 365 to get it's daily rate. Then you need to count the number of days left on your AP and multiply it by the daily rate for the PAP. That should give you a close estimate of the BEFORE TAX price to upgrade. It is my understanding, and I could be wrong as I do not work at WDW, that the new pass will expire on the same date as the old one.

OK, so if that is correct then I would have 66 days left on my pass. The daily rate for an AP is $1.08. PAP is $1.43. So if I multiply my 66 X 1.43 that's $94.38. Too me that seems kinda high for only having 2 months left. Are you sure it's not multiplying the 66 by the difference between the AP daily rate and the PAP daily rate? That would be .35 per day which would translate to $23.10
It seems if If I multiply the 66 by the $1.43, then I am paying that amount in addition to the $1.08 I have already paid for the annual pass, right?

You are probably right, I think I left out one step.

You may want to check ticketmania for Disneyquest tickets, or mousesavers.

Regardless of what you do, have a Magical trip.

I have tried a couple of times to upgrade my AP to a PAP on my second trip when my AP only had a few days left.

One time I was told that I would have to pay $100 something which is the full difference of an AP and PAP for that last week.

The second time I asked, I was told that I could apply what was left on my current AP to a NEW PAP with a starting date of that day.

I have never been told I could pay for the upgrade on the time left on the current AP.

when we did it we had to pay the difference between a new AP and a new PAP.

How long ago as that? That kinda doesn't seem fair. I was talking on the phone this morning with a CM asking about it and she put me on hold to check on it. She said she was told that I wouldn't be able to find out until I got there becaus of the way it was figured.

The reason they do it that way is because it generates more revenue.

Why should they allow someone to pay for a partial upgrade when the AP only has a few days or months left??

If that was routinely allowed then the sale of PAPs would go down because most folks would buy an AP for their first trip, then for their second trip, upgrade, and get full use of the Water Parks, PI, and Disney Quest for a greatly reduced price.

I have read that a few lucky folks have found a CM that made a mistake (or did it on purpose) and allowed a prorated upgrade, but I can be almost certain that it is not an allowed upgrade.

We also were told that we could not upgrade our passes. WDW would have given us a credit for the remaining days on our APs and applied that to the cost of the new PAPs. We were given this information at EPCOT and I double checked at MK and AK Guest Services and was told the same thing.

So you would have had to buy new passes? I don't think I am renewing mine this time around....

There has to be somewhere to call to get an answer to this....

You can purchase 6 consecutive days of PI admission for $26.00 + tax and can also purchase a Disney Quest AP for around 60 something.

They also sell a Disney Quest + Water Park AP at WDW. Not sure on the cost

Disneyquest AP is almost $85. X 5 = ALOT! :earseek:

I would be interested in that PI pass though. Where can I find that?

It is sold at the gate. You purchase one night's admission at regular price, then at that time or before the end of the evening you can purchase 5 additional nights for $5.

The signs are all over PI.

Cool! I'll definitaly be doing that then. Now, I just need a fabulous deal on Disneyquest passes!

What if I decide I want to change to a PAP after I already used my AP?

You can do this. It will be handled just like any other pass upgrade. There was a time that you could upgrade your AP to a PAP simply by paying the prorated difference on the remaining time of your AP. (Example: a $120 cost difference translates to $12 per month. If you had 3 months to run on your AP it would have cost you $36 to upgrade to a PAP that would expire when your old AP did.) But there have been reports that Disney will no longer pro-rate an AP for this. If you want to upgrade an AP to a PAP now you will be charged the entire price difference ($120 in the example) for whatever time you have remaining on the AP.
