Please, Please Help This Newbie!

Okay, everything is paid for and ready to go.....

I have my room, park tickets, dining plan, mvmcp tickets and flights paid for....

So! My big question is: How much money should I still estimate spending during the week I am at WDW? No clue how to plan that! We will arrive on a Monday afternoon and leave first thing on a Friday morning. I believe there are only two meals we planned to pay for out of pocket.

Who's going on this trip? I just arrived home last week and wish I were returning. You will have an awsome time.

What you may need to pay for:

Souveniers $10 per person per day
(this allows for light up toys at night shows, collector pins, or a bigger ticket item or two during the trips)

Extra snack $5 per person per day
(lots of great looking stuff in the parks that catch your eye when you're hungry that may not be included in the snack credit....frozen lemonaide, turkey let, carmel apple ect.)

Depending on who's traveling, a night of babysitting for the little one(s) so adults can at least have one night out alone to really enjoy downtown or a nice restaurant.

If it's important to you, behind the scenes tours or special reservations like fantasmic, wishes, hoopdi doo.

Tipping for your housekeeper. $1 per person per day

Last of all, something you don't pay extra for that I love is nightly turn down service at the resort. Just call the front desk and have them put you on the list for it for the duration of your stay. It's just a nice reminder that you're on vacation. When else does someone else make your bed up twice a day?

Things that I pay for are
Tips: Mousekeeping ($5 per day for 4 people), Bell services 1-2 per bag each way(unless you plan on shelping your own bags). You might want to consider a few extra dollars to increase a waiter/waitress tip(if you are inclined).
Misc: Pics/photo's/$15 for a spare camera when you drop your extra memory card at AK .
Meals: You said 2 so I gues that could be about$30-50 per meal depending on where you go and what you eat(did you include breakfasts in your plans?)
What about grocery money? Are you stopping, if not what about refillable cups etc...with the meal plan it might not be worth getting though.
Souvies: My DS's are 7yrs old I usually give them $35-50 for a trip...they can not buy on the first 3 days, but then they can get what they want.
Snacks:We bring a brita water bottle, but depending on your family needs this can be from $8 a day to about $30 a day. For an extra soda/snack not coevred(or turkey leg )
Tolls/Airport parking: This is usually forgotten about. Depending on your area and length of trip it could be a lot of money or 0 if you are having friends drop you.
Are you driving? Will you be using valet parking? Just a couple of other areas for more money
So I would guess about $300-400(not all of this has to be in cash).

As others have said Tips and souveniers are about it.

But... are you asking how much will you spend total?
Or how much CASH should you bring??

Not sure if you know that they can put a charge feature on your room card. Then you can use your room card for everything except tips and snack carts. (Also if you buy souveniers Disney will deliver your purchases from the park to the gift shop or your resort... so you don't have to carry them around!)

Our first trip we didn't realize how often we would be in stores! (Most of the rides exit through gift shops.) So our DS hit us up frequently and we ended up with a lot of souveniers!

Since then we decide how much he can spend and give it to him in cash... in the largest bill possible. A $50 or $100. He doesn't want to break it! So he thinks about if he really wants something before he spends! Not sure every kid would be concerned about keeping a big bill, but for our DS it works like a charm!

I was able to use my room card at the snack bars on the dining plan. Use cash for extra items. Wait till the end of ther trip to get souvenirs, other wise they won't fit on the plane and they will be too expensive. This way you can get a better idea what they offer. I bring $200 cash. One large bill, 3 twenty's, four fives and singles for tips. My Amex also. I always go home with cash. On Amex I get reward points for my next trip!

Depends on if you are a hungry family! Snacks cost maybe $3-$7... I do not remember for sure, but not a whole lot. Meal costs depends on where you eat. Souveniers can cost a lot, especially pictures from rides and such .
