Please not again...

I'd been thinking the same and just before half term as well:sad2:

At the moment they're saying it shouldn't be as bad as last year as the ash isn't as fine. Let's hope that after last year's fiasco they will have more info to hand and be able to make a more informed decision earlier. Although to be fair I'm sure that if any of my family were to be on a plane that was affected by ash I would be the first one to be jumping up and down saying they shouldn't have flown, so I suppose they can't win either way.:confused3

Hope you all get your flights alright.

Im praying for us all that its nothing too serious :worship:... Im travelling by ferry so in theory shouldnt be affected however the ferries may be tied up with lots of people trying to get home and also if people are stranded in the Disney hotels then we may not be able to check into the hotels!

Just got to help this is something of nothing or else I am seriously cursed. Im only going to Disney in June as we've had to cancel our holiday in May due to myself ending up having emergency surgery! Surely I cant have to cancel two holidays!!!

I live in Aberdeen, so we will probably be one of the first affected. One of my staff has just called a friend in air traffic control, and the word is that choppers flying offshore will probably be cancelled tomorrow - no word on the fixed wings yet though. Helicopters are more vulnerable to the ash, however.

they seem pretty positive on the news that it shouldnt be as bad and they are more prepared to deal with it this year, hope they are right :confused3

We are due to fly out on Sunday. We have much really looking forward to going and it's a special holiday for our Daughter's birthday. She will be devastated if it's cancelled. :sad1:

Just seen on Sky News a prediction the ash cloud will pass over the centre of the UK travelling South, and may go over France towards the end of the week - not good news for travelling to Paris by air this week I think!

As for it not being as bad as last time - well the particles for this volcano are bigger, so they will do more damage to planes. Experts reckon it shouldn't be as bad, because the heavier particles will tend not to travel as far, but once it gets here, I reckon it will almost certainly ground air travel for a while. I saw some photos of the damage done to the test helicopter flights during the last disruption, and it is surprising how much damage can be done in a short space of time.

Personally, I find the most worrying thing this time is that the Government will be leaving it up to airline operators to determine if it is safe to fly their aircraft - will be interesting to see if there is a difference between budget and full price airlines! :confused3

Oh hunni when I saw this on the news I thought of you  Are you going to hold off telling Isabelle just incase? I really hope it's all ok for you and those travelling soon big hugs :grouphug:

Fingers crossed for you all

Hope it doesn't cause too many interuptions:grouphug:

Argggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad::mad:

So hope it doesn't effect us - we're flying from Glasgow to CDG on the 5th June..... :sad2:

Will be keeping everything crossed for those of you going to DLP in the next couple of weeks :grouphug:

Supposed to be flying out tomorrow morning and flying back Friday night! Its looking like we'll get out there but no idea about getting back! :(

just make sure youve got good insurance and take extra spends if you can and you should be fine even if you do get stranded xx

Not again.
Hoping it passes quickly and no one has to cancel :grouphug:

Hopefully the force of the wind we've had up here today will get rid of it - I've never seen anything like it. Trees pulled out by the roots.

Hope everyone gets there ok.

lets just say that we cant fly in 3 weeks due to this ash thing, we have booked thorugh disney themselfs for everything. Will they change the date for another time, or will we lose the holiday all together?

Fingers crossed for all of you that are flying soon
