Hi everybody
I posted this tip last year, but i see a lot of first timers with young children are about to head off,so i thought maybe i should post again.
Please remember that when young children see a favourite character they will head straight for them, and if your back is turned they are easy to lose.
So every day take a photo of them either on your phone or digital camera, so you have an upto date photo , with what they are wearing that day.
Then delete at night ready for next days photo.
Have a good trip and stay safe, just try and see things though a childs eyes!

We used to do this when the troops were little, so a timely reminder :thumbsup2

Great advice. Thank you. I also saw many children at the resort who had the mobile phone number of their parents written on their arms. :thumbsup2

What a brilliant idea!

My little man will only be 18 months old so he will either be in his buggy or on rains so we shouldn't have a problem this year. Great idea and I'll make sure I do it anyway

fab idea ! When we were there in June DLP were handing out little tags for you to attach to your child with name, mobile number etc on. It was quite scary to see the number of children who had become separated from their family. We have just bought a new set of reins for our next trip, they come complete with a Disney Princess backpack :)

We got those tags too, but wasn't sure if it was just if you were staying in the resort? If it is you could maybe write your mobile number etc on a bit of paper and keep it in their pocket?

Also for our older children (6 and 4) we explained that if they got lost not to talk to strangers but to go to the nearest shop/restaurant etc and ask staff for help. But I think I put the fear of god into them before we went explaining how it would be really busy and they could easily get lost etc that they were scared to let go of our buggy anyway lol

I saw that on Argos, i am tempted to purchase it or get a wrist strap. I know what DD is like for going on the run :rotfl:

We give the boys pieces of paper to carry in their pockets that say

I'm lost please phone my Mum .....mob no

When they were very young I used sticky labels with the mob no on and stuck it to their clothes

that is a really good idea i didnt even think of that

Love the photo tip - great idea!

I have bought some wrist tags to take with me. You write your mobile no. on it and attach to child's wrist with the details on the inside so no-one can see it unless they take it off.

I'm also going to explain to my DD (as much as I can as she is only 4) about staying close to me and if she gets lost to go into a shop and speak only to the person behind the counter.

I was at a Fun Day in my local park yesterday and it was scary the amount of children that were lost there - it must be worst at Disney!!!

Thanks for tip. I have bought DD (3) a pink Littlelife Toddler Daysack with a reain attachment on so she thinks she ia grown up but I still have her at arms length too. I will also take buggy for when she is tired.

Great tips - I'd read about putting a note in their pocket in the Brit Guide. It's a good idea - we'll definately be doing it :)

mine are both 11 but I still put a stickey label in the flap of their bags with my mobile number on and tell them to find a cm to help
