It's been snowing here since 6 o'clock yesterday morning.. Still snowing to beat the band.. Last time I checked there was 30 inches out there..

At 4:30 this morning I was jolted awake by this thunderous cracking noise.. I FLEW out of bed - didn't even stop to get my slippers - and went running downstairs because I thought the roof was caving in.. Turns out it was a huge branch from our pine tree - which is now covering half of our driveway.. It also ripped the telephone wire down AGAIN (and is now draped over what I assume is my van) but at least we still have a dial tone..

My son-in-law was here plowing at midnight last night and you can't even tell he was here at all.. Still no signs of the snowplow and I can hear more of the pine tree branches cracking..

Was two and a half hours late for work on Thursday due to the ice storm and never made it there at all yesterday because of this storm..

Someone make the snow stop - PLEASE - and make winter go away.. I don't want to play this game anymore.. :(

See, that's what I was talking about. (See my snow pictures thread.) 12" is nothing compared to this.

30" -- now THAT'S a storm.

I know you live in NY, but WHERE? You report the WORST weather. Remind me not to move there.

Take care. Hang in there.

We're outside the Capital District area in what they refer to as the "hill towns".. Not sure why they call it that - I don't consider it "hilly" - but nonetheless, whenever a storm comes through we really get belted.. Could be only 10 inches or so just a town or two over and we'll get double or triple that..

I'm really starting to get concerned about the lake house as well.. There was 30-some-odd inches up there from the Christmas storm - three-quarters of an inch of ice New Years Day into yesterday - and then from this storm they're expected to top out at a minimum of 3 FEET.. That's an AWFUL lot of weight on our roof up there - not to mention all the ice and snow laden trees surrounding the place that could easily come down.. If we EVER get a decent weekend again I may have to ask my son-in-law to take me up there so we can check things out..

By the way - if anyone sees a snowplow out on the road could you ask them to swing by here?? We're on a dead-end street - at the bottom of a very steep hill - so we're always the LAST to get plowed out.. :(

C.Ann... that is a lot of snow! I am so sorry you are completely snowed in like that. I hope your house at the lake will be okay. Just hang in there and hopefully this will all end soon!

I hope it stops snowing soon! That's too much snow to have to deal with!

GO AWAY SNOW!!!!!!!!

C.Ann, that sure is alot of snow even to make snow angels. be careful shoveling, take it easy with many breaks.

Is FLORIDA sounding good about now? :teeth: We were at 52 degrees and sunny today. :teeth: :teeth: I hope your home at the lake is doing okay. I'd be staying inside and hiring someone with a snowblower. For some reason you're reminding me of Albany, NY. When I hear the words "snow" and "Albany," I don't even read on. LOL! Stay warm, C.Ann!!
