Anyone want to speculate about fall discount codes. Last year we got a great deal at POR for 89/nt Sept. 30 to Oct 4th. As I watch the air fares rise I'm beginning to wonder If we'll be visiting the land of the mouse after all. Like most other "budget minded families" the only way we're going is if a little pixie dust comes our way with codes and decent airfares. I'm tempted to book the airfare and pray that there will be discounts for October but who knows. Any input and opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Codes usually only come out a few months before their designated usage. For example summer codes just came out. I know it can be frustrating. I sure wish they gave more planning time. I would think codes will be coming, but sure can't guarentee. If you want to go I would book room with DC/AP/AAA rate and hope for codes!

As for airfare usually your best deals are further out. We are going beginning of Nov. and I booked our airfare last week.

I am with you waiting it out. We are planning on flying from Dallas but so far no cheap airfares. I was able to get Delta for 80$ round-trip in Dec. 2001, though I do not expect that to happen. I currently cannot find anything under 278 ouch! I am also waiting for those AP rates to come out to see how that works out! BRING ON THE FALL CODES! :p

We are Florida resident seasonal passholders, and a few weeks ago on the main disney site there was a little box that said passholders get 30% discounts on rates, as Mousesavers says. We are going right after the dates expire for the current codes, August 25-28, but I called the passholders number, asked for rates, and they were all discounted. We got 3 nights at the AS Sports for a total of $181. The Beach Club where I want to stay was $674 for 3 nights, but I don't know if I really want to spend that much money! So call if you have an AP and see what is available now -

I'm in the same boat waiting on Fall codes. We currently have reservations at All-Star Sports for 4 nights and AK for 1 night because that's all we could afford at the time we are going.

If we were going during the summer, with the codes I've seen, we probably could have stayed at AK the whole time.

Do ya'll (yes I'm from the south) think we should book entire trip at AK and hope codes come out that we can afford?

I'm afraid that when codes come out, if we try to change our reservations, the AK may be booked up w/ their savannah rooms.

Looking for advice.

Cris

Mousemaniac - I think you should keep your All Star reservations. The value resorts seem to be the first to go during discount season (especially last year at 49 per nt.) From what I've seen on these boards AK is never fully booked, in fact, it is one of the resorts that many have been offered as "upsells". Hope the codes are decent and you get to experience AK for your entire trip.

I think just the opposite about waiting for the codes to come out. Book everything you think you might want at any rate, then wait to see if there are any codes. At that time you can decide what you really want & where you want to stay that is in your budget. It only costs one night to hold the reservations. Make sure you put all of them on the credit card you will be using to pay for your accommodations, then anything you cancel will just go towards your bill anyway.
