Please!!! Info on new Pirate Restaurant???

Adventureland Veranda is where the Lion King Characters do meet and greets in MK, and also inside there is where you can meet Jack Sparrow during the P&PP. If you go to Adventureland, and look at Aloha Isle you'll see a greenish CM door and the Veranda restaurant would have been to the right of that. The back of it rests against the smoking session in Liberty Square. It's a large building and the decor inside is still all intact, though definitely aged.

Gotcha! You had me at Captain Jack pirate: :rotfl:

So no idea what might be brewing in the boarded up area near Splash Mountain then??

There would be more moms there than kids! :smokin: :faint:
:rotfl2:

Shhh...the guise is that it's for our boys. It's so the husbands don't roll their eyes so much at us! (Mine wouldn't care, actually, but he would probably roll his eyes anyway)
:rolleyes2

No idea. How large is the boarded up area and where exactly is it? I highly doubt it would be a ride, otherwise Disney would have given some announcement about it. Perhaps just a food stand. I wonder if there are any pictures on the board of the boarded up area.

That boarded up area is pretty big. Could it be that the *rumored* restaurant is going in one place and the *rumored* pirate BBB is going in the other - allegedly? :confused3

I was at Tony's for dinner in March,08 and I was wearing a Pirates shirt and a cm came over to me and said, "if you like Pirate's we've heard there is going to be a Pirate's themed restaurant coming". He kind of caught me off guard while I was eating and I didn't pay any attention to the details beyond that. I assume he had no reason to make that up.

This won't help anyone going to WDW, but, there is a pirate themed restaurant near Disneyland (actually it is just down the street from Knott's Berry Farm). Think "Medievil Times" with pirates. There is sword fighting and arial stunts, etc aboard a pirate ship while you eat. We enjoyed it when it first opened in Dec 2005. The restaurant is called Pirate's Dinner Adventure.

There is one of these restaurants in Orlando too. It is on Carrier road which connects International Drive and Universal Drive, and is near Wet n' Wild.

BTW, you can't book T-Rex through Disney Dining, you will have to book it directly with T-Rex, just like you do for Rainforest Cafe

Since when do youy have to book RFC though them? I booked my ADR's for RFC through Disney Dining?

We ate there in Feb. and heard the same rumor. I wonder if it was the same CM?:confused3

The restaurant would have to go where the Veranda used to be because there's already a kitchen there and that's why they were kicking out my fellow CMs and sending them over to use the Tomorrowland kitchen. As for a Pirate BBB, I'm not sure they would put it near Splash Mountain, as I don't believe it would fit in with the theme of Frontierland, and it's not close enough to Adventureland. I imagine they would just stick that in with the one already in the Castle.

I heard that it would be at the entrance to adventureland where the veranda is also. I hope this is all true and that it opens by December!

lol. Your probably right and I would be one of them! :yay:

There is no Pirate Restaurant. People were "wishing" there was. We were all commenting on how Disney has so may Princess places for little girls, there should be a place for Boys, like a Pirate themed restaurant...or Toy Story.
or both

The area I was talking about isn't actually close to Splash. It is still in Adventureland along the path that leads to Splash. It is pretty close to POTC - on the left as you walk toward Splash.

Dining reservations for any restaurant on property, including those not operated by Disney, can be made via the standard ADR number. You do not need to call Rainforest Cafe.

Is is not completely true...You can use the Disney dining number to make ADR at the RFC at AK ONLY...You MUST call RFC DIRECTLY at the Downtown Disney location.

Is it technically in Adventureland (before you go under the overhang) or is it anywhere near the McDonald's fry cart/the smoking section? If it's the second one, that's technically Frontierland. I haven't been to WDW since this past January, so this is just a hunch, but is it fry cart that boarded up? It's actually a very dangerous stand (I know from experience) and I wouldn't doubt it if they were trying to fix it up a second time. Plus, I know McDonald's is no longer in DAK, so maybe they're trying to get rid of any McDonald's there.

As it's been established that a pirate restaurant is at rumor stage only, this thread is moved to the Rumors board.
