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dglasses

here on the DIS who has a whole list of characters, and where and when they met them...

:headache:
I just can't think of who they are right now...

You could try www.allearsnet.com for some tips, though, as well:)

Just a side note:) You may want to take off your caps lock..just makes it a little easier to read::yes::

I'll search my favourites list, and see if I can find their website...maybe someone else here has the info too:)

You;ll have a wonderful trip:)

:sunny:

We saw Pinnochio and Gepetto and friends in Italy at Epcot, A few of the
Robin Hood characters in Animal Kingdom, one was Prince John.
Hope this helps.

Disney has formalized a lot of the character interaction, especially for the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy) and the Pooh characters; there are special autograph areas with organized lines for guests to stand in and wait. This is less often done for the film characters. For many of the film characters, if the movie is set in a country that is in Epcot's World Showcase, their "country of origin" is often a good bet for finding them doing informal meet and greets. The Pinocchio characters can often be found in Italy, while characters from Robin Hood sometimes hang out in the UK section, and you'll see those from BATB in France.

Also, just FYI, you might want to refrain from posting messages in all caps. In message board parlance, all caps amounts to SCREAMING, and there are a lot of folks who will refuse on principle to respond to messages that are are in all caps.

Forgive me for typing in all caps,I wasn't aware that in message board talk that meant you were screaming,I didn't mean to appear to be screaming, just was getting very frustrated in trying to make everyone's dreams come true on this trip,so sorry. If anyone is not responding due to that, forgive me and please share with me. Hope to hear some more advice.Thank You. :earboy2:

Don't worry jnjusoioa, from what I've read, they are pretty common characters. We were at MK 3 days and saw the Pinocchio ones each time.

Are you worried because I told you that we didn't see the Robin Hood ones? Like I said, we didn't go back later and check to see if new characters were out. From what most people report, I'm guessing that they had to have been out when we were there, we just probably missed them.

angel's momma,hi there,no I didn't get upset because you said you didn't see any Robin Hood characters, actually yesterday I called the Disney info number to try and get some info and the lady I spoke to was really rude,so I was very upset about that. I don't know,I guess we just have these big dreams of seeing so many characters and I just hope it all comes together and works out,and I also thought that the Robin Hood ones were fairly popular,so we are hoping it all comes together and works out,but any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I haven't seen them on every trip, but definitely have seen them. In MK, We met Pinocchio in a area near Tony's restaurant. We met Gepetto and the fox character near the Old Skyway port outside Peter Pan's ride.

We met some of Robin Hood's friends near the railroad in the Toontown Fair area. And we met Robin Hood in the flag area near the entrance at MK.

We haven't seen any of them at MGM Studios.

I know how you feel. Our girls just love the princess' and that character interaction became a quest - almost to my aggrevation. I do have a couple of tips. Those web sites are a good start; also check out the characters listed for each of the character meals (that is how I guarantee a princess or two for my girls); when you get into the parks get your hands on the meet & greets & show times listing (usually there witht the park maps) that will help you plan your day around anyone your kids MUST meet My final piece of advice; relax. Tell yourself and your kids that you will see lots of characters but maybe not all of them.

the 1st few times we was there we wanted to see, most if not all of them your best bet is just relax, have a good time, when you least expect to see them is when you see most of them.
our 2 yr old hated them last yr.... i think we seen everyone then.... hopeing this yr will be mch better :cool1:

I understand that you are pouring your heart out, trying to plan the perfect vacation, but the higher your expectations are, the more likely you will be disappointed.

Believe me, you will see plenty of characters. You will most likely find yourself in long lines with people who are very excited to see characters too. Often times, the CM "cuts off" the line when you are so close to meeting the character. Listen carefully to what the CM says...he/she may tell you this character will be back at a certain time or he/she may even say the character will be back in five minutes. Trust the CMs!

You will need to make choices...what's more important...rides and attractions or characters? Usually early entry is the opportunity to walk on many rides, but the characters will be out too. Also consider character meals. Though there isn't a meal with the Robin Hood or Pinocchio characters, this is an opportunity to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, etc. to avoid their very long lines in the parks.

We stake characters out. We go to guest services and ask about particular characters. One day we were at MK, and we found out that Jiminy was going to be at Epcot. We ended up changing our plans at that moment because meeting Jiminy was very important to us.

Believe me...you are going to have the time of your life, but not if you're stressed out about everything. Have a plan, but be flexible. :D

Honestly. you're not going to have any trouble seeing these characters. We went three times this year and saw the Robin Hood and Pinnochio characters EVERY TIME we went to MK, right by the flag pole area. ON every trip!! One of our trips was about 2 weeks, the other 10 days. and I think a week for the third trip, and we were at MK 75% of the time. They were always there when we walked in. My kids were sick of these characters! Please don't worry, you'll probably get sick of seeing them too. :D
