I just opened my bill when I got home from Kidani and they charged me for every night I was there!!!! We were there on points. How do I contact the billing department??!!! TIA
Never mind - I got the number. We were overcharged $4,519.95!!!!! I didn't look at the bill until home since we had to get our shuttle at 6am. I sure didn't expect that - I'm shaking right now!!
 
I'm sure you will get it worked out. I would call Member Services Billing (in case you weren't calling there, but trying the resort or something). They open at 9 AM.
 
Wow, that is quite a glitch in the system. I've never had a charge for point stay. I wonder if someone at the front desk made a change and had to rebook your reservation for some reason, and tagged it as cash. I've had cash reservations rebooked at the front desk at a cash resort when the CM made a mistake and dropped the ressie out of the system.

It will certainly be taken care of, but I'd definitely call Memeber Services/Member Accounting. I'm surprised the system didn't catch this earlier, as there is a $1500 room charge limit.
 

You may also want to contact the credit card company and let them know that there is a disputed charge on your bill. They will flag it so that you don't accumulate interest or late charges, in case the situation is not rectified before your next statement is due.

Good luck getting all of this straightened out. Hopefully it will only take you one phone call. :)

The $1500 only applies to charging to your room, so if you left a credit card at checkin and were staying on cash your the charge would be applied to your credit card at the end of your stay.

Yes, but my understanding is that the extra room charges for the cash room showed up on that room charge bill, which the OP looked over when he returned home. So it also billed out at the end of the stay.

Yes but the $1500 limit has nothing to do with how much they can charge your credit card as you referenced how it could happen with a $1500 limit, which is only the limit when using your room key to charge back to the room.

I'm sure you will get this worked out, but I'm sure it's TOTALLY shocking. Do you have anything, like your confirmation, that lists your stay on points? Or did you check the Web site to see your past vacations on the DVC site?
 
Thanks for all your responses. They did refund the approx $4,500 but I still need to call my credit card company as we always pay in full and I didn't want to front this money and then be refunded in our next statement (today is the day they send out our bill). I think the problem came about because we were going to move from a 1br to a 2br and I requested the studio right next door so that we didn't have to move (tried this last year too but it didn't work out). They were having a lot of trouble doing this (I'm not sure why - I was down there for about a half hour) and then finally said that they would just call me when it was ready. When I looked on line at dvcmember.com this morning, they had cancelled and made my reservation 3 times and it only showed up as 7/26 - 7/26 :confused3 I don't know, but I called member services and they assured me that on her end that in the end, they had only taken the 155 points that I needed and that it was for the 26th to the 31st. I don't know how the cash for the room thing came into play, but WOW :eek: it was a shock to see that bill.
 
SHOO.. Bet you are so relieved. Makes you appreciate the fact that we are DVC members. Could you imagine shelling out that kind of cash if we were not DVC members :scared1:

Glad you got things worked out quickly and painlessly.
 
Just don't expect to get this settled before you have to make your current payment unless you dispute the charges.
