Hi there. Nope, you are not too late. They actually are interviewing for Fall 2008 right now. Disney will probably start the Spring 2009 process in the fall (late Sept/early Oct).:)

You may see me there. I plan on applying for Spring 2009 myself.

wow! i was wondering the same thing!

can you be too early? like interview now and say that you don't want to do it till spring? or should i just not bother?

also can you attend a presentation with out filling out an app. or interviewing? i would like to go to a presentation next month at my school but i wont be applying for the fall. and can/should parents go with?

You have to wait till the application goes up for Spring, there's no way to do an early interview per se. The presentation you can view on the college program website (www.wdwcollegeprogram.com) if you click on E presentation it'll show you the entire presentation, it's about 45 minutes in length, since you're not applying till September just disregard the stuff at the end about calling them and stuff. I'm planning on doing Spring Advantage '09 so if I get in hopefully I'll see you there!!!!!!!

They are only applying for the Fall 2008 program right now. They will start applying for Spring 2009 in late Sept/early Oct.

Also, I don't think it would be a problem to go to a presentation just to see what it's like.

Thanks guys! All of you are so much help... I have so many questions that don't seem to be answered on the cp website.
I just thought of one....but now i forget it. Bummer. I'll remember later. lol

Ok, one more question:

Let's say next spring rolls around and I get the opportunity to do the college program... say I love it (which i'm sure I will).... can I apply for the professional internship while I'm doign the college program???

Meaning, can I apply for the professional internship, while im currently enrolled in the college program, so I could do the internship the following semester..... or.... would I have to come back home, take another semester of classes, and apply then?!?

You can apply for PIs during your CP, that's what I am planning on doing!

for the role checklist, when i go to apply... can I check more than 3 boxes??? I'm assuming if i did, it would only help my chances of getting in since they would know that i am interested in working lots of places....

I'm interested in doing:

-Merchandise
-Attractions
-Vacation Planner
-Hospitality &
-Character Attendant

I think I would most like to do character attendant, but I would be thrilled with any of the options. Also, if I can chose more than 3, can I write down My preference?!? Or is that something I talk to the interviewer about?

Oh yeah. You can pick more then 3. In fact, my recruiter was telling the students that he recommended they pick at least 4, to be safe.

And you can discuss your preferences with the interviewer.

I've heard from various people that it's impossible to find shoes to wear for work down for the CP... would something like this work? I've got quite a while to have to worry about this, but I'm a huge plan-in-advance kind of person... and shoes and I do not get a long very well.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3933711

and i have shoes that look pretty similar to these: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3933676

would I be ok to wear something like that to traditions? I would be wearing black pants and some sort of nice button up or something...

The only problem is, for work shoes there are so many different kinds you could be wearing. It's almost impossible to know what kind you need, before you find out your location.

No, you need to provide your own. But I wouldn't worry about getting shoes until you find out your location.

Are they really discreet about the types of shoes you wear? Right now at work I wear a pair of all black Vans. They look like work shoes from a far. The problem is my feet kill if I wear arched shoes so I can only really wear skate shoes or shoes with a flat sole.

I can only tell you this from my experience, I worked in Toontown in Magic Kingdom and wore a pair of black sneakers from Wal-Mart. They worked out fine, never had any problems. Again it all depends on your location and what kind of shoes they require you to wear. You will need to find nicer shoes for Traditions and the first couple of days of training though.

what abuot the 2nd link i posted for the shoes... would those work for traditions/ first couple days of training. The problem with me is, i have huge big-foot feet. It's really embarassing and I can never find shoes that fit right unless I go to Men's shoes, and even then it's hard to find shoes that look girly enough to pass....

Those shoes look fine for traditions and the first few days, they really just don't want people coming in sneakers. As long as you wear black pants and a nice shirt those shoes will be fine.

In all likelihood, you'll probably need black polishable shoes. If they're solid-black and polishable (which I know is more rare for skate shoes) and the Vans logo doesn't stick out, then you're fine. Other than that, you would technically be violating the rules. Some areas more stringent about this than others.

Don't worry about it too much. If you think that they'll pass, then you'll be in a good position to go. If not, you'll have the time to get replacements (and you'll probably be able to find what you're looking for, between the Outlet Mall across from The Commons, Walmart, The Florida Mall and the Shoes for Crews ShoeMobile.
