Hi!
Three years ago we went to WDW to celebrate DS birthday. This was pre-DIS, so nothing really special happened. :sad2:

This summer we are traveling to WDW to celebrate other DS birthday. However, we are not going to be there on the actual day (so please no nasty messages that we shouldn't celebrate if it is not his actual day).

The complication comes because we are going to be there for Dh's actual birthday and we are bringing my brother whose birthday will be a couple of days when we return. He will be turning 17. In fact, we are all summer birthdays! :goodvibes .

So, what should I do? I planned on having DS birthday celebration at Chef Mickey's. I was then going to have an all out celebration for all of us one night. Any suggestions. I am just not sure how to handle this.

Celebrate everyones :) It's not your fault or theirs that they're all born around similar dates. We're going a little over a week after DS's and we'll be there a few days before my b-day and you can bet that I'll celebrate both of ours! After all, what better place to celebrate a birthday than with Mickey and the crew? :wizard:

I only have one dd - her bday is the 17th and my mom's is the 4th of the month we visited...

we arrived on the 4th, so mom got a free cupcake at ohana - and shared w/ dd (their dessert and food had us all stuffed!!)

Then we had a CRT ressie, and I told them it was both mom and dd - so they each received a card and we got buttons for both of them all week...

When we got to animal kingdom a CM did ask DD (she was wearing her button) when her "actual" bday was, she told them, and the CM smiled and said happy bday (I like to think if it were her actual bday she might have been chosen to be in the parade, but we had discussed this, if anyone asked she would tell them the truth - most didnt ask - I made sure I explained we're "celebrating" her bday!! And when people asked we told them the same...

We paid for a cake and slippers for our 1900 Park Fair meal - by far the only cake worth paying for imho!! (the cake at LTT was previously frozen, blech!!)

so do what makes you feel best considering everyone celebrates!!

We are going from the 4-9, and my DS's birthday is on the 27th. The CM I spoke to when making my ADR's put it in for every ADR and noted it for the hotel. She was the one who advised me to celebrate it for the entire week! Have fun and celebrate everyone's day!

I found out that one kid celebrated when she was at Disney.. and her birthday was at the start of the year.. but it was her present or something they said.. but everyone treated them fine...

oh well... I think if its your day or close to it.. celebrate it!!! Mickey Style!

Funny this subject came up again. I will be turning 50 :scared1: just before our trip. Although it is over a month. We plan on not having a party and celebrating at Disney World since we can't afford both.

My family says I have to mention I just turned 50 since I am not having a party. I feel like an idiot being that old and wearing a button. Am I being silly? Is this to long after? Would any of you at that age bring attention to yourself?

Well, our situation is similar. If we go next year around May, here is what we fall into:

Dh and ds share a b-day (May 30)
Mine is 2 weeks later (June 12)
Dd is 2 weeks after mine (June 25)

I don't think we will go around the birthdays just because June is so busy and they boys' b-day falls around Memorial Day.

You should absolutely bring it up!!! I've had my birthday at Disney 4 times and always get my pin at guest relations! Last birthday I celebrated there was number 43. It's just fun! One time the CM at the ice cream cart gave me a free ice cream. I was getting ice cream bars for the kids and he told me I had to have one too. He said I just couldn't pass up getting something free from Disney, because who knows when that chance would ever come up again!!! You're turning 50 that's special! party:

My oldest and middle ds's birthdays are both in April. Ds 15 on 4/7 and ds 4 on 4/24. Our first trip (with all the kids) was 4/3-4/7/05. We celebrated both birthdays w/out a 2nd thought. Bday buttons, free bday dessert at dinner and cards in the hotel room. We also had 2- $300+ bday dinners while we were there ( we had a party of 11-12 people)So I don't think Disney minds at all- especially if you are at least in the right month. That's the impression we got anyway. For our 2006 trip we went from 4/1-4/3. We didn't celebrate either birthday but I would have if ds-15 had wanted too. In fact, I would have celebrated both boys birthdays so no one felt left out.

Hi, Stitchfans...

I noticed your signature is "She who will not be ingnored :teeth: " ... so please don't miss this chance to "not be ingnored!" :cheer2:

Celebrate and enjoy your birthday even if it is a little "late"...after all, even the card stores sell "belated b-day" cards!! Many wishes for a happy 50th!! pixiedust:

My husband and I are going in Aug for a long weekend. It is our gift to each other for our birthdays & anniv. We each get to pick a day while we are there and celebrate our birthday that day. One day is set aside for the anniv. Since the trip is our gift I don't feel bad celebrating. party:

Thanks so much. The she who will not be ignored was a joke and a suggestion from another Diser friend.

As you can see from my tags 50 scares me, but since I will be celebrating it at Disney World it doesn't seem too bad now! :teeth:
