Please Help with This Scenario...

I have spent hours reading and searching sites, but I still can't find definite answers to my dining plan questions....

We are going to Disney World on June 3. Free dining ends on June 2. I have rack rate rooms booked for a split stay at POFQ and CBR. We have annual passes.

Can I fly in June 2 in the evening and still get the dining plan for all 8 days of our vacation? (I believe this is yes, as long as our whole party is there in person)

Can I do that even though I have an annual pass instead of buying tickets?

If I have to buy tickets, can I use them in a year after our annual passes have expired?

From a budget standpoint, do you think it is worth paying for a rack-rate room price and buying 4 one-day passes just to get free dining? (4 adults)

If you check in on June 2 then you will have free dining the whole trip. But you have to buy 2 day tickets for your whole party, not 1 day tickets (new rule). Yes, you can use the tickets the following year. As long as you don't use them, they don't expire.

As for if it is a better deal, well if you were planning to pay rack rates anyway, then free dining is a better deal than paying for food out of pocket. But it will come down to what they come out with for AP discounts for that time frame and what works better for your family.

Thank you so much! The 2 day ticket rule will probably axe this idea for us. My twins are only 10 and would much rather spend time riding rides - not eating!

I know you said you probably won't do free dining, but if you end up reconsidering, here's something to be aware of since you're doing a split stay... free dining will only apply to the reservation that begins on June 2 because you have to check in on a day when the promotion is in effect. You will be checking in for your second reservation after the end of FD.

You will get free dining as long as you are booked to check on on June 2 (but only for the reservation you checked in for on that date, not for the second half of your split stay). It won't matter what time you check in as long as you book that night. But you will have to buy at least 2-day tickets for everyone, there are no exceptions for free dining.
