Please help with restaurant for a Sweet 16...

Hi! We are Disney lovers who have not been able to go for the last 2 years...We are heading down in May for my daughter's Sweet 16...I was going to do lunch at the Coral Reef...not realizing they dont do the divers or personalized menus anymore...I would really like her to have a remembrance of her special day! Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would say that since you have been, where does your DD like to eat? Does she have somewhere that was special to her?
Or as a kid did she have somewhere that she wanted to go as an "adult"?

Or maybe what types of food does she like? I would involve her in picking her restaurant. Make a afternoon of looking at menus and researching what would make her feel special. That would be what I would do.

I had my daughter's sweet 16 at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant where they cook in front of you. We have been there many times but for the people that werent before they had the greatest time and my friend's younger daughter said to her when she turned 16 she wanted her party there. I know there is a Teppan Edo in Epcot which has this kind of restaurant.

Our daughter is turning 16 in WDW this trip, too. We are having her celebration at California Grill and will be there for fireworks! I have gathered on these boards that custom cakes can be made at some restaurants, and they seem best from CR, so that's one of the reasons we chose this restaurant on this night.

Some ideas we had for the day were tea at GF, a character breakfast, lunch in the castle, a spa treatment...she picked Typhoon Lagoon for the day, so now we are leaning toward a "down day" plus a nice dinner. Another great venue for a party is HDDR. If you've never done that, it is wonderful for the whole family, and very festive. A fireworks cruise might be nice too, we've never done that.

I received custom menus for my graduation celebration at both Citricos and Yachtsman.

Most any of Disney's signature restaurants have personalized menus (printed with Happy Birthday ______ or other such message).
