Hi, This Nov. will be our first trip to WDW.We are planning on staying At WDW for 6 nights but after that we are going to explore more of florida. We were not planning on using a rental car until we left the world. Can we rent a car @ WDW and who do I call? If I do rent a car at WDW will I be able to return it to the airport or does it have to be returned back to original rental place. We are planning on using a towncar service to get to WDW but would like to drop rental car off at airport. While at WDW we will just use their transportation.Any help would be appreciated as I do not know the best way to go about this.

Thanks in advance

Avis --located at the Hilton in Downtown Disney--allows return to the airport. When I rented a car in April from this location, I was not charged a drop-off fee.

National has no drop off fee either. If you are staying at a Disney resort you can have the National courtesy van pick you up and take you to the Care Care Center near MK to get your car. You can arrange pick up through your resort bell services or you can call National @ the CCC direct (407-824-3470) to schedule a pickup. There is no charge for this.

Advance reservation for the car would be a good idea, too. ;)

National has 2 wdw parks location:

1. wdw car center at the magic kingdom, this is suppose to have a van that picks you up, or returns you to your resort.

2. National rental car desk at the dolphin resort (at epcot).

All national cars maybe picked up and returned to any location!

We are picking up at airport, returning to magic kingdom car center after 1 week & then picking up again a few days later at the dolphin & returning car 1 week later at the airport! We did it this way cause the 2 1/2 car rental is almost +700.00 and with only the 2 weeks, Emeral Isle, Disney Club Discount & Disney Club coupon (cannot use if have car longer than 2 week), we are getting it for less than 400.00 total in prime season july/aug! We did book this about 3 to 4 months ago, but the price has never been this good since.

(Checked price for our time 1 week = 3+days)

We are going in october and hope to get a similar deal, prices should start coming down later in august, sept. We check the internet for deals every couple of days, and these board usually someone will post when the price drops.

Good luck, MKY:)

If you wanted the car for your entire stay could you do this? (Since I've never heard of the 2 week restriction.)

Rent the car at the airport for 1 week, using your discounts and coupon...return it to the car care center, while there - using a separate reservation number, pick up another car - again using your discounts and coupon - repeating the cycle as necessary, with the final return to the airport. If you HAD to, you could even spend a little time to drive to and from the airport if you needed to do the switch there. I don't see why this wouldn't work.

How are you getting from the airport to WDW?

When I considered a taxi (from what I hear 30 to WDW and 30 back plus tip) or towncar (around 100 plus tip, round trip)
I was able to rent a car for the whole 10 days I was there this May for 230.37 total with taxes and everything. So basically I only spent 100 more to have it the whole time. Then, if Disney busing isn't to your liking, you can drive, but park free since you are staying onsite.

Check mousesavers.com ~ sometimes you can get excellent rates and then you could just keep the car for the entire stay. :)

The Disney club & all other coupons are only good for 2 weeks max. And yes we could rent the car for the 18 days but that is priced as a 3 week rental, and terribly expensive. (more than our airfare, for both of us, round trip). Because of our resort choices we decided to cut on the car and have to go with just the 2 weeks. If I could get the same rate I already have, I probably would of changed and payed the difference, but now it is way out of range. We would wind up losing the coupon savings, and then adding the extra week, but it will be, ok, we still have the car for 14 days, and transportation to and from airport. MKY

I did look into the other rental car companies, and there coupons and mousavers, but EA, is just to interesting & easy. (hoping for a mistake on the aisle).;)

You can't pick up the car at the Dolphin. You can do the paperwork there but they will shuttle you over to the Care Care Center to actually get the car. It might save you time in the long run to just reserve the pickup from there.

I Had a similar situation and here is what happen-

WE are staying at Disney for 10 days in October and we are planning to go Discovery Cove 1 day and Sea World 1 day.
I called Dollar rental and they have onsite p/u or d/o at Disney so I priced out a rental for 7 days + charge for towncar (and the inconvience of someone drooping off and getting back), then I priced for 10 days and realized that it would be a better deal!
For $289 we are renting a minivan for 10 days!

Hope it helps! ps I got the code for my rental from disboards - I'll see if I can find it again - I've been checking to beat the rate and it hasn't happen yet!
