Hello. I am hoping that some kind person would be able to recommend a rental (hotel, timeshare, condo, etc.) close to Universal that has a full kitchen. Two of my children have food allergies. We are a family of five.

I'd love to stay at a Universal hotel but it is my understanding that the resorts do not have rooms with kitchens. If anyone has recommendations of restaurants that can accommodate guests with food allergies, I would appreciate any advice that may help us find a way to stay at a Universal resort. I'm thinking that won't be an option.

Thank you for any help that you can provide!

The Holiday Inn Maingate is just across the street from Universal and within walking distance to the parks. I don't know if they have full kitchens but the suites have a microwave, fridge and dishwasher. We have never stayed there but have plans to on our trip next month.

I think most of the restaurants at the resorts and parks can accomodate any food alergies, you just have to ask.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful trip:goodvibes

I don't know if your on a budget and don't know how expensive they are but The Point Orlando Resort has full kitchens but I have never stayed there but they did get good reviews on tripadvisor.
Hope this helps

if you are interested in staying onsite but hesitate due to the allergies, contact guest services and talk with them.

they can give you the phone number for food services so you can discuss it with someone that handles/in charge of it.

i know with peeps that have specific food allergies have to be very careful on where to eat.

so i totally understand the need for you to know in advance.

hopefully you will find the info you need so you won't have to be doing kitchen duty the entire time you are on vacation.

Thank you for the replies.

I will contact Guest Services, as suggested. Maybe they can help us find suitable restaurants.

Thanks again!

Mystic Dunes and Orange Lake Resort both have full kitchens and are nice sized rooms. Orange Lake has a lazy river, slide, etc. Very nice.

I am sure any of the restaurants inside Universal would accomodate the food allergies though. They even have Trans fat free options. Sal's was our favorite restaurant at PBH but that's the only resort we stayed at.

HTH!
