We will be in WDW & Universal Studios in 7 weeks and my 9 & 14 year old are too scared to ride JAWS. I need someone to tell me exactly what it's like and what to expect. Thanks in advance everyone!
Susan:rolleyes:

We were just there. My 5 and 8 year old boys are very timid about riding ANYTHING they think might scare them. They would NEVER ride a coaster. However, they were fine on jaws. My 5 year old was a little scared but the aniticipation of waiting on Jaws was worse than the actual jaws. Ride in the day and you should be fine.

My dd rode it when she was 5 and didn't say much. She rode it again at 7 and hated it! This is the girl who's favorite ride was Spiderman. I think she didn't like the "surprise" factor in the ride and the fire. She was scared to death on Earthquake and Twister too. Have you picked up a copy of Kelly Monaghan's book? It gives a pretty detailed description of the rides and shows. Reading about the rides might make the kids feel better them. Good luck!

CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

It's a boat ride around a New England town. The captain is your "guide" and your tour goes horribly astray. It is mostly "anticipation" type of scared, like when the boat's alone in a boathouse and jaws rams into the side of it and things go crashing around. The captain does alot of yelling about how terrible things are going. There is some fire. The actual jaws pops out of the water a couple of times at the end. It's actually pretty campy (or tacky to some). Let's just say no one will mistake the jaws ride shark with a real one. PS: if you want to get the kids wet (mostly their behinds) make them get in before you!:D

Something goes terribly wrong on a universal ride? No, you must be kidding! ;-)

My 7 year old is very timid - would not even dream of getting on a coaster and Jaws was his favorite ride last year. This year it was Spiderman, but it really scared him the first time we rode it. Maybe if they don't sit on the outside of the boat, they will be able to enjoy it.

Hello, I know this post is VERY, old but I wanted to gather up what pride I had left and clear something up!! I am LADYnTRAMP's DD who didn't wanna ride JAWS--nor did my little brother! Well, no I am 16 years old and I just wanna stuff ym pride in my pockets and say.....I WAS NOT AFRAID, MOM!!! :)
