How did you choose your officiant?
We're having a very intimate wedding (just the 2 of us!) and dont know who to choose as our officiant. What do you think?
Thanks :earsgirl:

I highly recommend Rev. Jack Day. He made our Wedding so special and perfect.

I am a second for Rev. Jack Day. He was fantastic at our wedding and made it that bit extra special. As ours was only an intimate we wanted to extend it a little and he was fine with us including an extra bit in. If you can get him (he gets booked up very quickly) then go for it.

Another vote for Jack Day.

He is the man you see on the Disney Wedding Video, and is often on TV. Our ceremony could not have been more perfect for our intimate ceremony.

LOVED Jack Day. He really worked with us on the vows we wanted, put us both at ease and made our day WONDERFUL!!!!

I also used Rev. Jack Day. The way I selected was watching demo videos with the different officiants, then talking with Rev. Day on the phone. Hope that helps!

I chose Rev. Jack Day, he's Baptist, and that was really important to me and my fiance. He and I have talked on the phone a couple of times and he is so cheery and full of warmth, he's making this so comfortable for the both of us. I have also seen him before on the Extreme Makeover wedding and thought he did a good job. Being able to book him as our officiant made my wedding plans complete. :lovestruc

WOW! Maybe I should have had Rev. Day!

We had Rev. Kevin Knox. LOVED him! He made it like we'd known him for years!

We really loved Rev Kevin Knox as well. Both him and his wife amde us feel so comfortable.

He was the most sweetest man i've evr met, his caring & sincere words alone made me cry. It made my DH cry too!! I really would try and book him, because he is a very popular man! Hope this was helpful, Good Luck with all!!

Sort of an aside question: Is there a posibility of getting an officiant who's rather non-deminational, almost non-religous? We're not a particularly religious couple, and tho we don't mind the mention of God in the ceremony, we wouldn't want it to be overly so.

TrickyFish - You can use any of the officiants. I know Jack Day do the ceremony how you want it done. You can even right it yourself if you wanted to... He wont mention anything you dont want mentioned. Talk with him, hes great!!! He will give you sample ceremonys and then you can choose one of those or write your own.

Good Luck

Jamie

Thanks for the reply Jamie! DBF and I aren't engaged yet, but we've already decided we want to get married at WDW. Its nice to have the info to keep in mind so I'm not going crazy when the big question comes!

First of all ~ I agree 100% about Rev Jack Day! He was wonderful!!!

Second ~ I am Russian Orthodox and my DH is Jewish. Needless to say, there really isn't any ceremony out there already to perform for us. So I spoke to Rev Jack on my site visit, and he told me he will do whatever it is we wanted. We had a loving ceremony, with a few traditions from each of our backgrounds. We made up the entire ceremony ourselves, and Rev Jack performed it as if he had written it himself.

Good luck!

I picked me dad:) He's a judge so he can do the ceremony. And then we found a catholic priest that would do a church recognized ceremony at disney! You should be able to get a Justice of the Peace if you want more of a civil ceremony than a religious one. Call the Orange County Courthouse.
