I have been reading and reading as many threads as possible, but still having trouble deciding. You were all so helpful in giving advice as to which parks to visit for our first trip to WDW in January. But now, I am doubting our initial booking to stay at ASM. We normally stay at the DLH when we go to DLR if that helps in any suggestions, so wondering if we would rather be at a moderate hotel (budget limits us to that). We really like some of the ammenities and Disney "feel" of the DLH. I just think we will miss out on some of the space, in-room fridge, distance from parks, etc. if we stay at ASMovies...love the theming though (we have 2 kids, DD3 and DS6). I have absoluately nothing to compare it too being that we've never been to WDW but POR looks more similar to what we usually like at DLH (particularly the new Royal rooms). It seems the wait for buses can be a problem sometimes at POR from what I've read?

All that to say, any suggestions or any other moderate resorts you would recommend or stick with our initial reservation at ASMovies?:confused3

Waits for buses can be ANYTHING at ANY resort at ANY time. No resort has "good" bus service and another "bad." The only thing I have found consistent with bus service is slow service to/from DTD, but again--it varies.

I love ASMovies and ASMusic. If you are not going to be in a room a lot, _I_ find a moderate hard to justify, but YMMV. I will be back at ASMu in under a month!

Good to know about the buses. We always just had a 10-15 min. walk from the DLH to DL so this will be a whole new experience for us!:)

When we stay at the value resorts we stay at Pop Century for one reason, it has its own bus line. We have found it really helpful after a log day to go directly to our hotel instead of making stops.
