Long time lurker of these forums thank you all for the many years of great advice and wonderful stories...

We are travelling to Orlando in November and we need help deciding between two vacation rentals.

Windsor Hills 4 bedroom pool/spa Cost $500 more then Roys Disney Villa all inclusive including pool heat .

http://www.kamenavilla.com/kamela.html

Option 2:

http://www.roysdisneyvillas.com/ all inclusvie including pool heat located at Highlands in Davenport. We have stayed here once before and this Villa is HUGE however it needed some updating and a good cleaning.

One other question.

What is the biggest difference between South facing pool "Roys Villa" and North West facing pool Kamena Villa.

I guess the biggest questions is the following "Is Windsor hills worth the addtional $500??

I'm losing it trying to figure it out

Hello, hard to have such a tough choice, Huh?? Two very nice options...
Without a lot of research, just off the cuff here goes...

Roy's is definately farther out and another 10 minutes to Disney from Highlands Reserve or Hampton Lakes. Also it can be a bit of a challenge to get on and off highway 27 that takes you north to 192 or south to I-4 to get to the parks...Roy's has two King beds vs. King and Queen in the other along with the twins.
Big difference is 3 vs. 4 baths at Windsor Hills if that is important for privacy.
Big difference is pool heat, which you want for sure and figure an extra $100 or so unless you can bargain for it at WH.
South pool gets sun from morning till mid afternoon. North will get sun late morning to later afternoon. A big deal to some folks who want to veg by the pool in the morning...not a big deal if you are off to the parks early for the day.
Looks like TV in all bedrooms which is nice.

I would guess that Hampton Lakes might be a little less busy or occupied than Windsor Hills that time of year. Also, I would guess that 80% of your vacation neighbors will be from England, as many of the homes there are owned by the Brits. Not a positive or negative, just a chance to have a European flare to your vacation.

Other factor is the big sprawling club house at WH. The clubhouse is cool but you may not use it at all unless you are into billiards, evening movie, or using the big pool, which will be heated a bit. HR has a clubhouse but I do not think it is as fancy as WH. WH is gated and you will have 24 hour guard at the gate. HR is gated but not sure if it is guarded, but is quite safe.
So, looks like a choice between $500 and an extra 10 minutes, one extra bathroom, a big fancy clubhouse, and pool heat...
Lot's of folks wish they were in your shoes...good luck...I am sure either is a great choice for you.

All the best...Ted

I am not sure what you mean by a good cleaning?

Is it dirty or just a bit out of date? If it was me I would go for the clean one. Thats just me.

My wife ended up wiping down the windows, toilet, counters and plates.

House had 1/2 inch thick of dust everywhere and smelled like a damp basement the first couple of days. We called management company multiple times they ended coming after 3 rd day of our arrival and gave it another clean.

Price however was unbeatable at the time at so we felt we had no room to complain.

Sounds like the man/co is not on the ball and I would be very leary about a home that is in need of a clean and the man/co's reaction time is 3 days later. Not sure how much you paid to make it worth your while to have toi clean toilets on your vacation but if you do not mind then go for the cheaper one and hope for the best.

Personally I would like knowing I have a clean home to arrive to and a man/co that is more on the ball what if something major happens 3 days may seem not so long but I would not want to take a chance. You can not get that holiday time back.
