I am visiting my parents and they have a new oven they just got as an anniversary gift. The Thanksgiving turkey was to be the very first thing made in this new oven. To make a long story short, (and please don't laugh) they forgot to remove an aluminum liner that was sitting on the surface of the oven, and after 15 minutes it melted and burned into the surface, which is the heating element. Not good...
Did they ruin the oven? My mother is practically in tears. Any thing we can do once it cools down? Is there a special chemical or something that can remove it? We tried taking a spatula to pick at it, and it feels pretty stuck into the surface right now. HELP!
