Hi,we are family of 4 ,kids 8 and 14.We are traveling to DL on 24th and staying untill the 2nd.The plan is to spend 2 days at each park and 1 or 2 days at USH,1 day at Holywood and 1 day at the Sea World.Any sugestions please.Do we need 2 days at USH and is one day enough at the SWC?If we buy SoCal City pass how can we add extra day at the DL park. And also suggestions on walking distance hotels close to DL parks?

Thanks a bunch:confused3

Hey there, only just read your thread.

I dont know what USH is.. Im assuming its Universal studios? if so the last time I was there it was over 20 yrs ago, and back then 1 day was enough... the 14 yr old will have a better time than the 4 yr old.. so unless they have made it more younger child friendly.. there is not a lot that a younger child would understand and get into... most everything they had was geared towards adult or teen movies...

is SWC -- Seaworld.?? if you get there at gate opening and stay till the end Seaworld in one day is enough.. its great and fun for all ages, and the shows are great..
if you go online to get the show schedule you should be able to work out how to do all the shows and and in between see all the exhibits...
you can take your own food into Seaworld now.. but like DLR they will stop you if you have hard coolers etc...

Dont know anything about the SoCal pass, never used one.. so cant tell you about adding days...

and hotels Im at a loss.. we stay at the WorldMark and get the shuttle..

Hope you have a great time :)

We went this summer. 1 day at USH was more than enough for us. We stayed at the holiday Inn and walked to the park. Hotel was okay. Not great. We did two days at Disney and would have enjoyed another. Also the San Diego zoo is great.

Can't help you with the pass question.

I've doen USH twice and both times got there at opening and had pretty much finished up the park before dark.

Sea World can be done in a day and if you do it on a weekend should get the extra time. Fireworks and different shows at night than during the day at Shamu and the sea lions.

Your four days a the DLR should be ample. But of course the more the merrier.

1 day is sufficient for US and SW. It is up to you if you want to get the City Pass. Just add up the ticket prices and see if the CP is cheaper. I believe you can add DL days to it without issue.
As far as hotels go, We like the Marriott Fairfield Inn and the Hojo there. I can usually find really good deals for these locations. Neither offer breakfast though. If you are looking for a place that includes a hot breakfast...a lot of folks here like the Residence Inn Maingate. The walk is a tad further, but certainly walkable.

I can give a recommendation on the hotel. We stay at the Best Western Park Place Inn. It's located right across the street, they have a free breakfast, the rooms are clean, and we have always had very friendly service. We always stay there because we hate taking a shuttle and we don't want to have a long walk after walking around the parks all day.
I don't know anything about your other questions, I haven't been to Sea World since I was in 8th grade, and that was a long time ago! Have fun!
