We are trying to decide on a special activity for our early Feb. trip! We are a family of three with a ds that is 6yo. We are trying to decide between Hoop De Doo Review, Poly Luau, and Cirque de Soliel. The only one we have done before is the Luau, but its been several years! We will be staying at the Polynesian, so the Luau would be convienent! But, we would like to try the others as well! I guess mainly we want something our son will enjoy! Please help!!:yo-yo:

It's kind of a tie for me. Cirque Du Soliel is absolutly beyond amazing...It is visually stunning, and there are so many things going on at once, you'd probably have to see it all just to catch everything!
However, the Hoop Dee Doo is a LOT of fun, especially for the kids the 6yo would have a blast! Cirque is probably more geared towards adults (although a lot of kids there seemed to be enjoying it and the music is terrific)
It's really a matter of preference.
Cirque is a lot of acrobatics and dancing, while Hoop is just plain old fun! Plus you get a meal! If I had a 6yo, I'd probably go with that! good luck, you'll enjoy whatever you do!

I also voted for Cirque De Soleil. We haven't seen the show at DTD yet, but we did see a Cirque show in Las Vegas when we went there in 2001. It was fantastic! There were lots of kids there, too.

I voted for HDDR--our 7yo and 6yo loved it. I wasn't sure if they would really get the corny jokes, but they loved it, laughing, clapping along, singing. I recorded a lot of the show on our camcorder and they still enjoy watching it at home.

I voted for HDDR. The only problem is reservations can be made 2yrs in advance. Not sure what seating you can get now.

We got excellent seats about 3 mos out. and we also got the "worst" table in the house a few weeks out and still had a great time and great view. Dont sweat the date.

I voted "other."

Hang out with PiperG and her family (including DS6). LOL.

Hoop Dee Doo! We went for the first time this past May, and it was the highlight of our trip (5 days at WDW followed by a 7-day DCL cruise). My 3 DD's, ages 9, 6 and 2 LOVED it. We laughed so hard! I live in Las Vegas, where we have two Cirque shows, and I probably won't take my kids to one of those shows until they are older. It is expensive and they are expected to just sit and watch. Hoop Dee Doo is a fun show where they can participate and feast on a yummy meal to boot!

Hoop DeDoo was fun for my DS but my DH and I found it to be sooo corny. DS liked it , I wouldn't say loved it. We all did love Cirque DuSoleil.(My Ds was 5 at the time. It is so different than anything else you could see (except another Cirque show).

If you EVER have the opportunity to see a Cirque du Soleil show, take advantage of it. It is definitely an experience for all ages. I believe my son was about 6 or 7 when we saw 'Alegria' and he was in awe!
