Hi, DVC experts!

We are dreaming about booking our first DVC stay...eventually...and have a few questions about studio bed configuration.

Our "kids" are in their 20's, and while they don't always travel with us anymore, we would wish to bring them along for our welcome home trip (and others of course)!

They aren't too keen on sleeping in the same bed. Last year when we stayed at Beach Club (resort side) our one request was a room with a sofa bed (which was happily granted). So I have been looking at info available on the internet about which studio rooms have a configuration that could accommodate all 4 of us adults. DH and I get the queen bed, and then we need 2 additional surfaces. From what I'm seeing, it looks like VGF, PVB, BCV, BWV and BRV fit the bill. Please tell me if we are missing anything.

ALSO...are we allowed to bring a blow-up mattress, and which studios, if any, would have the space to accommodate one? Specifically, we'd love to stay in OKW for our welcome home, seems apt, if we could fit the mattress...

ALSO...I know that most one bedroom villas can match this need, but those cost double, and we would be travelling on a small amount of points and have big plans for next year, so want to keep this stay to a minimum point value.

Thanks for your help!

All of the resorts that you listed plus RIV can accommodate 5 people, using 3 separate sleeping surfaces. But that 3rd sleeping surface is a bunk-size, Murphy bed which is smaller than a twin bed. It’s not really meant for an adult.

You are permitted to bring an air mattress if you stay under the room occupancy limits. As a family of 4, you would be okay at all DVC studios. However, BLT studios are pretty small due to the kitchenette having a larger than average footprint. I would scratch it off of the list. PVB, RIV and VGF would have the most room for an air mattress, while the rest would have space as long as no one needs to stumble to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

My 20 something DDs who are 5 feet 8.5 inches tall (twins) do sleep in those flip down beds just fine. But much bigger than that and not really conducive.

As for bringing an air mattress, BLT and CCV are small so I wouldn't there. Also the AKV value studios too.
Poly was the best fit for DH and I with our twin 20-something DDs. The 2 part bathroom is nice. One did sleep in the flip down bed and one in the sleeper sofa bed. OKW was the next best. Think it had 2 real beds in a studio there (so my twins did share that bed) and plenty of floor space for an airbed.

How tall are your kids? The BCV flip-down bed can fit someone 5'2", maybe 5'4" tall, comfortably.

The BLT, well, the air mattress could likely fit in the kitchenette area, as long as people know they can't walk in there during the night :)

Mine slept in BCV flip down. Maybe not the most spacious for them but they didn't seem to mind at 5'8.5".

Thank you! I forgot to mention that RIV is out for us, as we are purchasing our points resale. Our DD is about 5-2 and not wide, so I think she'd do fine on the bunk thingie, but the blow-up mattress may be more comfortable. I had heard about how small the BLV studios are so we will avoid that one this time for sure!

Thanks for confirming room in OKW for an airbed. Poly will be our home *tears up* and our first big trip next year, but for just a little quick long weekend celebration, OKW is what we were hoping for, but hesitating because of the 2 queens. Also, my DD is smaller than your twins so I think she'd be OK in the bunk, too.

DD will do fine in the flip down. Plus it looks so cute! I think she'd even enjoy it for the novelty. She lives in a studio in Manhattan, so is used to cramming into spaces haha.

Thank you! This seems to be the consensus and is making me feel better, that at least we may have some options.

I am 5'4" and 135 pounds and would do fine on the flip down bed. OKW studio doesn't have it but does have floor space for an airbed.

We have stayed in in a Poly studio with my two adult sons. One sleeps on couch bed, the other one on the pull down bed. My son that sleeps in the pull down actually likes that bed. He is about 5’10” but is very slim. This year we stayed at Poly studio again. Only one of my sons came this year. He picked the pull down bed over the sofa bed. :confused3

Thanks! We are leaning toward the OKW scenario. Have airbed, will travel!

While we are on the subject...I assume the pullout sofabed is big enough for 2 adults, for when we have a different party. Is this correct?

Some of the sleeper sofas are only double size, some are queen size. BRV, BWV, BCV are all double sized. Polynesian, GFV are queen sized.

Any studio villa 5 with that extra pull down will work. But the kiddos are growing into a welcome home two bedroom. Time to scan the resales! 😂
