I need some advice for the Coral Reef restaurant in Epcot.

I'd LOVE to eat dinner there one night {have heard the aquarium is something NOT to miss}. I was hoping someone could tell me {even though I haven't seen it listed on the boards} if premium meal vouchers are accepted at this restaurant.

Also, is there anything else to eat there besides fish? I know it's the Coral Reef restaurant, but we really want to go to eat WITH the fish, not EAT the fish. There is an Above the Sea menu portion that offers New York strip loin, pork chop, or chicken {a little expensive, which is why I'm hoping they accept the vouchers}, but I was wondering if there were any other offerings.

I checked allearsnet for a menu but it's from April 2003. There haven't been any updates. Does anyone know if the menu has been updated since then? Or has anyone eaten there recently that can give me an idea of what's on the menu? Any info is appreciated! Thanks!:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo

We had the steak there. It was a fair steak served with fries. Just standard fries. It was just ok food at a very high price. The resturant however is very cool. We truly enjoyed eating here though we have no plans to retun. Our waitrer was very cold and boardered on rude. DS had some kind of pasta and the playdough desert and ate neither one very well. We had the white chocolate desert and it was awsome, but unlike most WDW deserts, pretty small when we shared it. WTW, we got desert because we were not full from our meals, another rare thing for us at WDW. If you go, go for the theme not the food.

I agree with the above post. And we tried it twice, but still did not think the food was very good. But the dessert was delicious! We had the Chocolate Wave. I would go just for that and the atmosphere.

Hi there ! I have the menu from October 2004 and the Above the Sea choices are: Grilled New York Strip Loin, Roasted Stuffed Pepper (Vegetarian), and Mushroom Dusted Oven Roasted Chicken Breast. It's slim pickens if you're not a seafood lover. That said, I'm one of the few people who had the best meal I've ever eaten while we were there for our honeymoon (I had the special, Australian Lobster Tail). However, I think you might be better off just going for dessert. Not so much voucher-wise, but food choice-wise.

Thank you everyone for your input on Coral Reef. We're planning on doing something simple for dinner that night. Maybe we will just stop in for dessert.

We're not seafood fans {well, all but 1 of us}. Since this is really an awesome restaurant {I know it's the Coral Reef but...}, they should offer more food that's not fish. I'm sure they'd get more customers.

Thanks everyone!:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earseek: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
