So here I am, 3.5 hours away from my FP window opening. And I have to stay up until midnight on a weekday to book them. If they had FP+ available at 56 days instead of 60 days I wouldn't be in this position....but that's not the point of this thread.
Here's where I need your help. We are traveling 8/29-9/5. We have a 3 year old boy and 5 year old girl. Our son is whiter than Casper and blonde so we want to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Our plan is to hit the parks about 5PM and stay until close. We go twice per year so we're not worried about not getting THE MOST RIDES out of our vacation. A non-sunburned baby is what we're looking for. My wife is also concerned about heat exhaustion so she'd prefer to not be out in the heat of the day. So that's where we're at: we won't be at the parks until late afternoon/early evening.
That background will help you with my dilemma. According to easywdw.com MK is the preferred park on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday during our trip. MK closes at 10PM each of those nights. MK is not preferred on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. MK closes at 1AM Saturday and 11PM those other nights. Naturally with a 3 and 5 year old MK is our main park to go to and we're planning on 4 MK days.
If I follow easywdw's preferred park schedule we will only go to MK on nights it closes at 10PM. Since we won't arrive until 5 or 6PM that's like 4-5 hours of park touring. If we go the non-preferred nights we get an extra hour of touring....but it's not a preferred day.
So what do you recommend? Go the preferred day and have an hour less of touring, or go the non-preferred day and get the extra hour. Which will give us the most bang for our buck?
