We have a last minute trip to Disney and due to work we have to book a resort by tonight. We will be there July 1-6, and would love any information about what is the best moderate resort. We are thinking either New Orleans FQ or Riverside. I have looked at all of them but am still confused. Our children are 11 and 13. Also, which is better, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? Any help whatsoever would be very appreciated. Thank you!

I would check out CBR! I was there with my DS14, my DS11, and their DF13 a couple years ago, and this year I was back with my DS16, my DS13, and their DF16, and we all love it. The kids loved the boat rentals on the resort's own 45-acre lake, the white-sand beaches with hammocks and beach chairs, the main pool and six quiet pools, the food court and game arcade, and there are bike rentals too (although we didn't do those). It's a great resort -- I have photos in the links below if you're interested in checking those out.

Good luck deciding!!

Try for POFQ. I think Coronado Springs looks good, too.

We prefer Blizzard Beach. Lots of great slides... But both parks are beautiful and FUN.

Good luck:thumbsup2

Forgot to mention, BB has Summit Plummet which is really cool, even for me (I hate heights!) -- but the wave pool at TL is awesome! We actually did both water parks in one day 2 years ago, but this March we only did TL -- it was one of our favorite days of our trip!

Hi there, and Welcome! We are deciding between those two resorts for our December trip, so I can share a little of our research. Besides clicking on "resorts" at the top of this DIS page, and doing the same at the allearsnet.com page, you should go to tripadvisor.com and search for these two resorts by name...once there, you will find an option to click on "candid photos" and there will be lots of pictures of each resort posted by individuals. That has helped us a lot!

POFQ is a smaller resort with the New Orleans french theme, whereas Riverside is more spread-out and has two differently styled accomodations areas--the Mansions (more formal) and Alligator Bayou (rustic). Both have bike and watercraft rentals, and you can take a boat ride to Downtown Disney from both. A special perk--if you stay at either resort, you can use both resort's pools. We've opted for POFQ, but I'm sure we'd be just as pleased with POR. Good luck, and have fun!

We have stayed at New Orleans Riverside. My children were 5 and 2. We were in the bayou section (cute). The walk to eat was long but the kids enjoyed the scenery. We have only been to Blizzard Beach so hopefully next time we will go to Typhoon Lagoon.

We did both BB and TL and TL won hands down in our house... thats why we changed our ressies from Dec to Sept because TL was closing down for refurbs! We love the wave pool and I liked swimming with the sharks! We have 4 days planned for TL this trip. My kids are younger though (10, 8, 6 and 3). Also, we did research on MODS and are looking at CSR because 1) they have their own busses...2) its a convention resort so there are a few extra amenities that the other mods dont have 3) a better pool slide (big with my kids!)

Blizzard Beach for water park and if want to stay Port Orelans I choose River Side and welcome to DIS if any mod resort I will pick Corando Springs

I would pick POR as there is more to do-bikes, boats, fishing, more pools, sit down restaurant, horse carriage ride, boat to DTD, & beautiful landscaping. I think it just had more to offer than FQ & that is where we were going to stay before a travel agent screw up. Kind of happy it happened that way now. FQ is beautiful too & smaller. Either place you'll be happy. As for the BB/TL question-there is more to do at BB-more slides & with your kids that might be better. I like TL too-might be a bit more relaxing as there isn't as much to do. POR is definately where I would stay again. It seems really big on the map until you get there-not bad at all. CRB & CSR I think are huge in comparison-to each their own. Depends what kind of theme you like. Have a wonderful trip-I'm jealous!!!!!

Thank you all for the wonderful information and the kind welcomes! It was much appreciated.

We LOVE coronado springs.

If you are doing the dining plan, the pepper market is the place to be for quick service. It's partially quick service but they have steaks too.

The slide is awesome.
