Please HELP me with All Star Movie.........

Hi everyone I just booked a mini vacation on a whim for April 18th-23rd. I think I’m nutzzzz, but that’s beside the point. I already have a vacation to WDW booked and paid for July 2008, I will be staying at the AKL.

This April we will be staying at the AS movie. Can ANYONE out there tell me if I made a good choice. I have never stayed at AS Movie before (either Sports or POP, or Music).

How is the food? How are the rooms? How are the grounds? Did I make a good choice?

I'm excited I think Im going to make this a surprise vacation for my son?

I have heard good things about it. I have stayed at Pop and LOVED it (wasn't sure what I would think). Check out my review in my siggie.
I would recommend a preferred room, so you are closer to the buses,etc.....
Take a look at a map and do lots of reading on the boards.

We stayed there this past Nov and we loved it. We stayed in the Woody Section and it was great. Loved the different themes, loved the pool, loved the room. The Maids put all my kids stuffed animals in the windows everynight and around our room doing funny things and the kids really got a kick out of it, so did I . The food court was good and my Mom and I hit the bar every night and that was good too.

Our boys were thrilled with the pool. I think its a good choice. I would definetly stay there again

I've stayed at the Sports, Music, and Pop Century as well as the GF, Cont, WL, AKL, POR, POF, the Dolphin, the Boardwalk, and the Caribbean and for a time period would only stay at the deluxe resorts until I finally stayed at the ASM resort. And, now in retrospect, for the value and for the amentities, the ASM resort is my favorite. You can't beat the price and its been my experience that ASM resort customer service rivals the GF (no joke).

The extra amentities at the deluxe resorts are nice, but personally, I've never used them enough for them to be worth it, and the ASM gives me just want a like in a resort and saves me money as well.

We stayed at ASMovies in 2000 and we really liked it. It is just a basic room but it served it's purpose for us...alls we did was sleep there. However, last year we stayed at POP and I really liked it there so we'll go back there on our trip next year. But if POP is full, I'd book at ASMovies in a heartbeat. We always get such a great rate on the value resorts that it's hard to pass them up. We like to spend our money and time elsewhere in Disney.

We are DVC owners and love to stay at the deluxe resorts and we do, however we also stay at ASM, because the kiddies love it. We always start our holiday with 2 weeks at asm followed by a week at deluxe, the kids wouldnt have it any other way. The amenities are basic,no fridge etc however a large cooler bag filled with ice each night and left in the bath keeps milk and drinks cool till morning, then repeat in day The washers are on the expensive side (according to US visitors that we talk to), food court can get repeative after 2 weeks, but we use it for drinks and to use the microwave to do popcorn etc that we buy at wallmart.
We will probably be back there every year till the kids reach their teens or really get bored!!
It also depends what you want from your resort, a bed, a swim and a quick bite to eat there is no better. A walk around the resort is also recommended because the themes are great for the kids.

We really liked ASMovies. The food court there is my favorite of all three resorts we've stayed in so far. We're going to stay at ASMusic this year, but we'll go back to Movies.

All Star Movies is great! I love all the values (never stayed at Sports) but
we really enjoyed our stay at Movies and would stay there again. The main pool was being refurbished while we were there so I would like to see the resort without that eyesore, so that is another reason I was to stay there again.
