Please help me understand my points usage for an upcoming reservation

Hello - First off, I am a fairly new member and have only booked 1 reservation thus far and it was straight forward. Now I'm getting ready to book my next reservation and need a little help. We have a February UY of 300 points. 90 left on 2017, 300 on 2018.

I need to book a 9 night stay for March 8-17 of 2018. It will require 460 points. I can book it April 8th, 2017.

I believe I need to do the following:

1) bank the 90 points from 2017
2) borrow 70 from 2019

Is this correct? If so, how do I actually borrow those 70 points? And will I be able to borrow them in a few weeks when I make this reservation?

If you want to use those 90 points from your Feb 2017 UY, you will need to bank those first. Banking is a standalone process on the member website.

As for borrowing points, that's done during the actual reservation process. If you don't have enough points in the UY in which the reservation is to take place, the reservation process will give you the option to borrow points.
