Please help me understand about points used by

I am currently looking into purchasing a DVC with DD's. I understand how points work and the basic logistics however, here is my question. When looking into a resale some of the sales state the points that must be used by a certain date. Understand that, BUT, here is my scenerio. Points need to be used by 2/12 with new points coming 2/12. Can you arrange your ressied back to back so they flow into each other. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY. I think hat you are wondering is if you can arrange a trip where you use the points from one year at the end of the month and the new points at the beginning of the next. you should be able to work this with Member Services. Plus, remember, you can take the trip earlier and borrow points from the ones allotted in 2/12. The risk there is if you cancel, you can lose those points.

The points that expire on January 31, 2012 cannot be used for any night beyond that night, but you may use the points in the account for February, 2012 for dates from 2/1/12 - 1/31/13.

Reservations may be made at your Home Resort 11 months in advance using the points in your account at the time of the reservation - so stays for February 1, 2012 could be reserved starting March 1, 2011. Making a reservation has nothing to do when the points are active in the account - and remember that you can also bank points into the following Use Year and you may also borrow points from the following Use Year for use before they would otherwise be active.

Also keep in mind if this is a resale contract, it will take 4-6 weeks (or longer) for those points that expire at the end of February to be yours to use. By that time, there may not be much inventory to chose from when booking a room.
