Ok we've been back a week and I'm planning round 2.

I am thinking Jan 16 /09 or Feb 6/09...I would like to go before then but Christmas is insane there I guess! Start of January its too cold ...lol

Last trip
All Star Sports / meal plan / 8 day park hopper ~Water park and more.
~ We Didn't do any water parks.

Advice on where we should stay?
~Reasonable
~Maybe a kitchenette area. Would prefer to cook some of our own meals. We did the dining plan last time but found almost every TS meal frustrating. We own a restaurant and were very disappointed with the poor level of service we recv'd. We sat through most meals thinking wow, they'd never do that at our Restaurant...lol
~Prefer on disney Property Still

~Maybe a 2 days park hopper
Would like to go to Seaworld, Universal , Bush Gardens....

Please help! Trip 1 was so overwhelming to book!!!

I am not an expert... but my family has been going every year for the past four years. We always stay at All Star Sports and get the dining plan and park hopper passes - no water park passes (usually a 7 day stay). My kids are now 5, 3 and 2.

I have heard that at All Star Movies they have some larger rooms with separate bedrooms and small kitchenettes which may work for you. We usually go in September during the value time (since my kids aren't in school yet) but I have heard that another great time is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is still considered "off-season" so the rates are lower and the crowds are thinner. The weather is cooler, but usually not too bad. We wet near that time one year and it was close to 70... not bad to me!

Hope you make plans that work well for your family!!

We just stayed at Sports! I will have to check out movies and see about the kitchenettes!!!

All Star Music has the Family Suites and they are GREAT! However, the "kitchenette" consists of a fridge, coffeemaker, microwave and sink, so there isn't much cooking that you can do. It is very handy for breakfast and beer, though (DH made oatmeal in the microwave).

We love to go in January - just try to avoid MLK weekend and marathon weekend, and you are good to go! (And avoid President's Day weekend in Feb. if you decide to go then.) If those dates are your only two, I'd go with MLK weekend. (I just looked and MLK is Jan 19, President's Day is Feb. 16 in 2009.)
