OK, you would think I would be able to manage a simple list piled with the stuff we will need for a two week road-trip to WDW from Chicago. I have driven this same ride exactly one year ago but am still needing a list of some kind. HELP!!!!! Is my plea desperate enough? HELP!!!!

Would anyone of the wonderful 'DISers be willing to share their packing lists? Its me, DH, DD (11), DS (9) and DD (7) whose junk needs to get packed. P.S. WE are staying in a rental condo with laundry and a full kitchen. NOt much Disney magic there but home magic when I get home and there's no dirty laundry to be washed....only put clean clothes away!!!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to help this crazy overprogrammed suburban mom! I love you!!!

Yes, your desperate plea got me!
That and the fact that 20 some people viewed your post and no one responded yet!

I would go do a search and type in "packing lists". I know there are lots of threads about it and somewhere I saw a link to a master list. Also check on Allears.net. For some reason I think there may be one there.
I have one that I keep in Word that I've modified for my own use. I'd be happy to email it to you. PM me if you want it.

As far as the car ride - be sure to have activities for the kids. Mine take their Nintendo DS and we charge them when we stop for a night (if you have to). We have the DVD player for in the car too. books, if they don't get car sick.
Snacks for in the car - don't bring chocolate unless you can keep it cold! We usually bring licorice, goldfish, PBJ sandwiches (uncrustables are easy), drinks.

It's hot, so be sure to pack sunblock, sunglasses and lightweight, light-colored clothes. Hats might be a good idea too.
Gum - they don't sell at WDW.
Hair accessories (ponytails for long hair), chapstick with sunblock, at least two pairs of shoes, swimsuits.
Extra batteries, memory cards for cameras (they are SUPER expensive at WDW), chargers for all electronic stuff.

Since you're staying off site, I'm guessing you could stop at a store to get some stuff like laundry soap and kitchen stuff for while you're there. I'd focus on the clothes, accessories, camera stuff and medications that can't easily be bought elsewhere.

Hope that helps some!

Thanks for replying! I remember seeing posts several months ago about packing lists and will definitely use the search function (hopefully it's working better than in the past ;) )

The Nintendo DS's are a must. I read in a previous thread about people renting DVD's at Redbox and returning them in a city down the interstate. We may have to try that!

I think you're right...I should pack a hat. A hat will protect my hair color and provide some sunscreen for my face.

We are leaving in three weeks. I've already started putting things I've purchased (hand soap, laundry sheets, aluminum foil, etc) into a bag. There's just so much we'll need, but you're right...Super Target is just down the road if we need anything!
Thanks!
Cathy

Hey catho72, i am a newbie and I happen to run across one on mouseforless.com. I copy it to word then edit it how i want. Just make sure if you add to the list that you do it in a space that already had been type in. It won't accept it any other way. Have a great time. I am going next year in May with my son and a friend of his. :cool1:
