Does anyone remember the small round tables that you could buy at walmart/kmart type stores, they are small, round and you put a table cloth on them...sort of a cheap decorative bedside table? (I think they are wooden with 3 legs and they came unassembled) I think a 70" table cloth would hang to the floor when placed on it...and I think they were usually stocked in the table cloth aisle.

I am looking for something like that and I remember you used to see them everywhere...anyone have any ideas on where I could find one?

Does anyone know what I am talking about?

LOL, not a huge big deal...but now it is a personal mission just because I cannot find it and it's like they never existed at all. I used to see them everywhere. I just figure someone out there would know what I am talking about, thanks in advance!

If you can't find them, a better option is a round garbage can. You can cut a circle of plywood or fiber board as a top (use a couple of blocks of wood affixed to the bottom of the round to prevent it from sliding off your garbage can base).

If you use a garbage can for the base, the table is more stable and you can use the inside of the can for storage (off season clothes etc.). I remember those 3 legged tables being knocked over by the cat all the time.

hth,
Thanks, now I at least know I am not going crazy and they did exist, LOL! I was beginning to think i imagined them. The garbage can with a top idea is a good one.

The reason I am looking for one is we are redecorating my DDs bedroom and I found an awesome tablecloth that sort of pulls the theme together nicely and it would be nice as bed side table with her lamp and alarm clock. We are trying to go 'minimalistic' in her room to reduce the clutter...just the bed, desk, armoire and bookshelf... and hopefully the bedside table.

If I can't find one, I will definitely take your advice, thanks!

This is the kind you are talking about, right??? http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82489&PRODID=59843&source=search You can't get them at Walmart or maybe a craft store???
Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about. Those tables used to be EVERYWHERE.

I have checked Walmart, Target and Kmart. I am not sure if I am looking in the wrong aisles or what (I have been looking where they stock the table cloths and also the furniture sections) The employees look at me like I am growing a purple beard right in front of them when I ask, LOL. That is why I thought maybe I imagined them. But I will try the craft stores, good idea!

you might try Lowes or a home improvement type store. I know they had them when I was painting last year.

I would also check at Bed, Bath, & Beyond or Linens-n-Things. :)

Check my attic. I think I have 2 or 3 up there. Oh wait. That won't work. ;)

Definately Linen's N Things. That is where Lauri's mom got hers.

I got one at Walmart years ago. The last I saw them, they were located with the placemats and table runners, in the Domestics area of the store. They're inexpensive, and not very sturdy by the way. Do you know anyone handy who could fashion one from plywood? The dept store display ones have a sturdier base, not sure I could explain but rather than three skinny screw-in legs they have two boards that cross in the middle.

If I had known you needed them I would have saved one I used to have! ;) Honestly though, they are pretty unstable. But they looked cute with a tablecloth on them. They were sold at Wal-Mart in the aisle where tablecloths and placemats were. In K-Mart they were near the lamps I think. They were called the "decorators table".

Target stopped carrying these. However, my local Wal-mart had some near the lamps a few months ago. I saw them and considered picking on up for dd's room.

Isn't it weird how you see something ALL the time but when you decide to BUY one they aren't available anywhere? We used to have one of those little tables on DH's side of the bed. And the cats would always use it as the step between the bed and the window sill and knock it over. We don't have it anymore - I think it either broke (the screws pulled out of the particleboard, maybe?) or we threw it out when we moved. Good luck!
