I have posted once here & thanks to all who responded so quickly. :earsgirl: I am just getting overwhelmed with choosing the best location to fit our needs. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I hope this doesn't sound too similar to my first question....
we are a family of 4 (children ages 8 & 10). we will stay at Disney from Nov 4-10. we would like a hotel with a transportation system simple/fast enough that we could go to a park in the AM, return to hotel for a rest & then go back at night. we plan to go to MK, MGM & Epcot (and seaworld). Probably spend some time in Downtown Disney &/or the Boardwalk, also. maybe a character breakfast or dinner or the campfire at wilderness.
we are looking at moderate hotels or non-Disney hotels. we don't need many fancy things...a pool, a comfortable, clean room, and easy transportation (this is the most important aspect). In addition, if there is a car rental place at one of the hotels (or nearby hotels) that would be great, because we will have a car (spending first 3 days in Florida in West Palm Beach).
when we went for 2 days a few years ago we lucked out and got to stay at Polynesian and were spoiled by the monorail (we spent one day at MK & the other day at the classes/dinner at the other hotels on the monorail lines, so getting around was truly a non-issue).
I would love to hear your suggestions and the pros and cons of each.
thank you so much.

Welcome to the DIS, rokni!

If you are looking at a moderate, I would suggest the Port Orleans French Quarter. It's a lot smaller than the other moderate resorts, so it's a lot easier to navigate. Your kids will love the sea serpant pool. There is a boat to Downtown Disney, which is a nice break from riding the buses all the time. I have always had great luck with the buses at the POFQ.

I second Port Orleans French Quarter

I suggest you check out the Swan and Dolphin. They have frequent special deals running and offer more discounts than Disney resorts. They are located in the Epcot resort area. This area offers great access to both Epcot and the Disney Studios. You can walk or boat to either and the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach clubs are a short walk from there. You can take Disney buses to the MK, AK, DTD and the water parks.
They have an ad running on the top of this page that you can click on.
