I have been watching fares from BDL to MCO for Sat, 1/12/13, for my son & his family. I have bought 3 out of the 4 tix needed as these were $135 per tix(only 3 available at this price). Now the fare is up to $205 and I still need to purchase 1 more tix. Do I wait it out and hope that the fare goes down or do I bite the bullet and book at the higher fare just so I know they will all be on the same flight? The tix I still need to purchase is for a 9 yo boy, so that certainly means he must fly with his parents.

I also need to book their flights home for Thurs, 1/17/13, which are currently at $135/tix. What at the chances of those flights coming down in price? I figured if the flights down decreased in rate, I'd use the credit towards their flights home, but now I'm thinking that probably won't happen.

oh I would so buy those at that price!!!! I am sick looking at the prices of flights for April, I would gladly pay that :thumbsup2

I would do it now for sure. I also travel BDL-MCO. Purchased our tickets for December the day they were released. Paid $120 pp one way. The tickets soon went up to $218 pp and are now holding steady at $327 pp! They have done nothing but go up, bigtime!

If you wait to purchase the 9yo's ticket and the flight sells out, you will have to pay whatever the current price is for a non-stop or direct flight (cannot be the last non-stop or direct flight of the day), plus $100 for an unaccompanied minor fare. He will also have to arrive after the rest of his family, so that they can meet him at the gate and show ID to "retrieve" him. IMO, waiting any longer is either going to push you into paying much more than the current price, or dealing with a very large headache.

And at $135 on the return--I would book it before it's gone. That is a great price these days.

I would say purchase now as well. We travel BDL-MCO also and we are going in November. I purchased on Jetblue right when the schedule opened and we are paying $498 round trip for the two of us. I just checked today and the same airfare is now up to $734 for the same flights. I think you would be taking a big chance by waiting.

We just booked airfare from Chicago to Orlando, ended up costing us about $248 per person, was pleased with that..

OP here - I did end up booking all the flights. I actually ended up switching them to Manchester - MCO as it's about the same distance as BDL and the flight down is a couple hours earlier. I ended up with $280 per tix, but being SW, if they end up needing to cancel, they'll get credits to rebook another trip without any cancellation fees.

Thanks to all for helping convince me to bite the bullet and buy their tix.
