Please help me decide between a few places to eat:

Based upon this boards' great recommendations, I have selected places to dine with DH (whom loves good food) and DD whom is a very active 1 1/2 year old. Before coming to this board I booked the Princesses in Norway for dinner. Now, I called and got the Liberty Tree but it is the same night. Which one would be better? DD seems to enjoy the characters and does not really know about the princesses. So, I guess I am leaning towards the Liberty Tree. But feel free to talk me into the other one.
Another decision: Rose & Crown, Ohana, Cape May or Concourse. (I think Ohana would be out of the running since we are doing the Aloha a different night and we have the Ohana breakfast scheduled that morning.)
We are also doing Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic Package (I wanted Mama Melrose but it was sold out), the Beirgarten, and the Crystal Palace.
Please let me know if I should change anything.

Thanks for any help,
Stacey

as for liberty tree or norway, i would read the menu for norway and see if there are things that your dd would eat. thats how i would decide. personally, for me i know my kids would enjoy breakfast in norway, and dinner at liberty tree, based on meus. hth!

The Concourse Steak House is good, and you can watch the monorails run through as you dine. Only drawback is that it is right next door to Chef Mickeys, and it is an "open" format, so the noise sometimes carries over.

We love the Rose and Crown, but more for the pub atmosphere and the great servers than the food. If you're looking for good food at Epcot, you might check out LeCellier, which is a steakhouse in the Canadian pavilion.

Between the four you are choosing from (Cape May, Concourse, Ohana, or Rose and Crown) we would probably take the Concourse, but would prefer LeCellier to all four!

As with all Disney restaurants, I think the key is to go in without grand expectations or preconceptions--sometimes we all build the anticipation up so much in our minds that the reality cannot compete, no matter how good or bad the actual experience may be!

We ate at both LTT and PSB dinner last May - we LOVED LTT and didn't care for the food at PSB dinner. The characters at both were really good, and we enjoyed the setting of both restaurants as well. This year, we're eating at LTT again (it's a "must-do" for us now!), and we're trying breakfast at PSB.

Following are my reviews from last year for each:

LIBERTY TREE TAVERN

Besides breakfast at CRT, this was probably my favorite character meal! Our PS time was for 5:40 pm. We checked in early and were seated early. While we were waiting, I remembered that we hadn't yet bought autograph books for the kids, & I panicked! (I had planned to have welcome baskets w/ autograph books delivered to our cabins, but I never did . . .) I asked the hostess where the nearest place was where I could purchase some books, and she very kindly told me that our server could provided us w/ some. Whew!

We were seated at a quiet table by a window in the corner. Our server was wonderful. She quickly brought us some autograph books & a pen. She was very nice to our 2 children. When she brought our food, she placed the bowl of green beans at our daughter's place & said, "This is just for you, Princess!" :rotfl: The look on my daughter's face was priceless! (She hates green beans!)

The food (except for the Stouffer's mac & cheese) was very good - the Declaration Salad w/ the strawberry salad dressing was superb! The rolls & apple cobbler were also quite good. The other offerings (roast beef, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans) were also tasty.

Characters were great! Our daughter fell in love w/ Minnie Mouse at this meal. Pluto kept stealing the bread off of our table. Goofy seemed a little hurried, but Chip & Dale were hilarious!

This was our very first meal at Disney & it was the beginning of a perfect first evening at WDW!

Atmosphere - Excellent
Characters - Excellent (a wonderful first meal!)
Food - Excellent (mac & cheese notwithstanding)
Service - Excellent

Cost: $0.00 (Actual Cost: $82.57) - We used 4 table service credits

PRINCESS STORY BOOK @ AKERHUS (NORWAY)

To be honest, we booked this dinner for the princesses. We probably would have enjoyed the food at Mexico or Canada better; however, with that being said, it wasn't bad overall.

When we first walked by the restaurant, it was quite crowded w/ people lined up outside of the door. When we came back at about 5:00 pm (our PS was for 5:35 pm), there was no wait. We checked in early & were seated right away. We were seated at a very good table in a corner by a window. I thought the inside of the restaurant was lovely, and I can understand why the princess meals are here - very "medieval country castle" feeling

The kids enjoyed the kids' appetizer plate. When the waiter brought it to us, I asked if the troll mix had nuts in it (our son has a slight peanut allergy), and he was very quick to bring the chef out to talk to us about the evening's food offerings. The chef was nice & explained the ingredients of each thing - the troll mix did contain nuts, some of the bread did as well, & the chocolate shavings on the mousse (for dessert later) was processed on the same machines that processed things that contained nuts. So, the chef said he would have the waiter bring us out some troll mix w/o nuts, some plain white bread, & would make a note to leave the chocolate shavings off of the mousse. However, none of that happened! :teeth: I supposed that our waiter forgot, and, since it wasn't a big deal to us (our son doesn't really like bread anyway), we didn't mention it. One other thing to mention (& this is a bit gross), our waiter was very nice, but he had a open sore on his mouth which was a bit distracting for me.

Anyway, I didn't care for the adults' appetizer plate, but I was hot & really just wanted something to drink. DH nibbled at some of the offerings & liked some of the cheeses.

For our entrees, our daughter had a peanut butter & jelly uncrustable. DH & I just laughed - a $13.00 PB & J!!! But, since we had the dining plan, it wasn't a big deal at all. Her sandwich came w/ grapes. Our son had a $13.00 hot dog w/ corn. DH had the poached cod & said it was fine although a bit bland & lukewarm. I had the chicken & pasta, & it was just okay - the marinara sauce was kind of dried-out, & the pasta was sticky

The desserts were wonderful however! All 4 of us loved the rice cream. My favorite, though, were the ligonberry bars.

Characters - Cinderella (really wasn't expecting to see her in Norway!), Ariel (in her beautiful ball gown), Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, & Belle were in attendance. Ariel was quite cute & very funny. Cinderella was also very good (actually better than Cinderalla at CRT!) - Our daughter was dressed up as Tinkerbell & our son was costumed as Peter Pan, and Cinderella had them both point to "the 2nd star to the right" w/ her for the pictures. Sleeping Beauty was also nice. Jasmine & Belle seemed rushed.

Atmosphere - Excellent
Characters - Good to Excellent
Food - Fair
Service - Fair to Good
