...between a standard view at the WL or a studio at the Beach Club. I'll be going with my husband & 2 five-year old kids. We're planning on staying for a week, sometime between mid-January & mid-February. We probably will spend most of our park time at the MK. We stayed at the AKL in May & didn't mind the busses, so the transportation issue is not too big a deal to us. I think I would choose the BC for sure if I knew the weather would be warm enough to swim. The cost will be about the same.

What would you do?

I personally dont like the WL. I dont like the themeing. It makes me feel all wintery and not happy summery like I enjoy feeling at WDW. Plus I'm DVC. BCV is one of our home resorts and pretty much the only place we stay, thats just how much we love it. I think you'd love the convenience of walking to Epcot and taking the boat to MGM.

I also think the two 5 year olds would love ordering the kitchen sink from B&C and having you all try to eat it together!

Thanks, guys! Haven't made a decision yet, but you've given me stuff to think about. Anyone else?

Is there some reason you're considering a standard room at the WL and not a VWL studio? Is it for the bunk beds for your kiddos? Just wondering, as a studio is obviously larger than a standard room (even though both BCV and VWL only have a sofabed as the 2nd bed), plus with a studio, you not only get the fridge, you get a microwave and toaster too. Always a plus, IMO! :)

As far as comparing one hotel to the other, I prefer the WL. I find that it feels cool in the summer (probably all that stone and water!) and warm in the winter. Plus, it's an MK resort, and you said that's where you'll be spending most of your time. You can either take the boat or the bus directly to the MK. Another plus! :) Oh, and our ds loves taking the boat to the Contemporary to play in their arcade. In his preteen opinion, it's the biggest and best on property, and he loves that the games there award tickets to spend in their "store". ;)

One thing to keep in mind about Stormalong Bay is that several posters have commented about how hard it is to keep track of little ones in such a large area. Don't know if that would be the case for you, but it's something to consider.

EDITED TO ADD: At the WL, you can also have a chance to be Flag Family! Getting to go up on the roof with Ranger Stan is a not-to-be-missed thrill -- it's still one of my ds' favorite memories. :teeth:

I would go for the WL, many activities for children and you can add all that FW has to offer too, like the petting zoo, campfire, etc.

Hey Amy,
Now that I think about it, it wouldn't have to be a standard room. I initially priced a standard room with my ap & it came to about $1000 for a week. Then, I figured I could rent DVC points at the BCV for about the same amount. I guess that's why I was comparing those two.

By the way, how comfortable are those sofa beds?

Thanks for the help!! :flower:

I honestly dont notice a difference b/w sleeping on the sofa bed and a real bed. Granted I'm still in my 20's so I could sleep on the floor and by ok, but honestly I can't tell a difference.
