Hello all.
I am going for 2 weeks on 15th October and have whittled my choices down to a few.
Orbit one, 2 bed appt $790

Silver Lake resort, 1 bed $750

Polynesian Isles 2bed $740.

Lake Berkely Resort 3 bed 497 (may be gone)

Regal Palm Resort £600 3 bed.

I am a single parent and will be takinng my 11 year old daughter. When I am on holiday I enjoy having a drink and unwinding at night, and ideally chatting to other adults. So a bar on site would be good.

I will have a car, so distance to parks is not a problem but can any of you help me by letting me know.
1, What the resorts are like?
2, What is round about?

3, Can any of you good folk find anything better

Silver Lake is located behind Disney's Animal Kingdom, less than a 3 minute drive to that park. It's just off Rte 192, slightly west of WDW, but there's a back road that takes you to the AK entrance area. It's clean, modern, with nice rooms. The main pool area has a huge arcade and game area nearby that your DD would probably enjoy a lot, as well as a small computer room for checking email. There are hot tubs and a poolside bar as well. It sounds like a 2BR there would be a good fit for you.

Polynesian Isles Resort is about 10 minutes drive, east of WDW on Rte 192. It has a pleasant, tropical setting and I don't know about the poolside amenities, sorry. The rooms are supposed to be nice. But I would not, personally, choose to drive further and get a smaller room, so while this is a reasonable option, Silver Lake would win over this, IMHO.

Sorry, haven't seen the others myself. HTH. :) Oh, and Rte 192 has tons of restaurants and shopping options, since you'll have a car. You'll have no trouble finding places to eat - many chain restaurants and local places. Enjoy!

Thanks for answering my question, but I think you may have got the apartments kerfuddled up.

The Polynesian is the bigger apt, and Silver lake is the smaller.

I do appreciate your remarks though. Is there a thanks button or anything on this forum?

I have just had a new one offered to me, Bahama Bay resort $1123. 2 bed at least.

Thanks for all your help, I have booked Bahama Bay Resort and Spa for $1123.89

Thanks *excited*

there is also
www.skyauction.com

go with home away (although right now it is passed what I would bid)

then you can get Orbit One or Westgate Villa - starting on Oct 14 - for a 2-bedroom villa - depending upon the price might even consider Magic Tree.

in the 1-bedroom there is Cypress Pointe and Silver Lake,Oak Plantation, Celebration World resort (not in Celebration but in Kissimmee as well)

at present
$44 (you would have to bid higher) + $195 + $20

you might consider this a bargin at even $100 a bid - I won't - but then I am cheap.

if you decide to go with skyauction - register now. then wait until the final minute or two to bid.
