We are just in the planning stage and I would like to know what you think about it.

We want to go during a 3=2 and/or 4=3 period so I won’t need my shareholders card.

We don’t want to spent more than 500€ each.
Here are the possibilities:

DLH 3nights/4days 483€
HNY Lakeview 3n/4d 374€ or 4n/5d 500€
NPBC Admirals Floor Lakeview 3n/4d 357€ or 4n/5d 473€
SL Montana Lakeview 3n/4d 310€ or 4n/5d 407€

This is a really tough decision. For 483€ we could get 3n in the DLH or even 4n in the SL and we would even save 76€! And wew would have an extra day at the parks!
Wow what a price range!

We have stayed in all 4 hotels so I know what to expect.
The DLH is the most beautiful hotel in the world but also the most expensive one! :thumbsup2
The HNY would be great if we would get a room in the upper floors. The view is exceptional. But AFAIK you can’t open your window in the upper rooms. And as we want to go in May or June this is not an advantage.
The NPBC is my 2nd favorite hotel. But we stayed there in October last year, and we had a nice room with a balcony. And in May or June it could be very cool to site outside and enjoy the nice weather.
And about the SL: I love the “country thing” of the SL. You are in the middle of a forest and in May or June this would be great. But almost no room has a balcony.

So what did you think?

Please help me! :surfweb:

Hmmm because you've already stayed at all 4, Its down to personal preference:
favourite (DLH?) - 3 nights
2nd favourite (NPBC) - 4 nights

May/June - all have pools for cooling off but which is the nicest?

Personally I would choose the DLH because I've never stayed there :confused3 But having the extra night would be a big bonus.

I would be tempted by the longer trip, and probably go for Sequoia Lodge for the better price. If I didn't go with that option, I would just splurge on the DLH for the three nights!!

My thoughts exactly :goodvibes

Hi

Sav had a great idea in the post "Will this work?" (sorry I don't know how to link it). You could book a night at a cheap offsite hotel for one night and then 3 nights at DLH. This way you would get the best of both worlds and spend an extra day in the park. :cheer2:

Yes we could do that. But we decided not to spend more than 500€ for hotel and entrance to the parks! But thank you anyway.
But that "Will this work" thing would not work for us. We hat to check-in and check-out every day. And I like to be for more than 2 nights in a Disney Hotel. Because after 2 nights you feel like home. If you know what I mean! ;)

I would choose Santa Fe all the time as we were never in the Hotel anyway and it is a good basic holtel. Good luck

Oh no not the Santa Fee. As long as I can afford it I would try to avoid the Santa Fee and the Cheyenne. Don't get me wrong. I do like them too but they are a little bit to "basic"!
They don't have a pool, no special rooms (like Lakeview, Montana or Admirals Floor) and the breakfast is very simple! You get a much better breakfast in the other Disney hotels.

And for me: I prefer to be able to walk back to my hotel (2 times every day) for a rest. And the Santa Fee and the Cheyenne are a little bit too far away.

But thank you for your suggestion! :)

The way I am doing it to get the most out of my park tickets is:

I've booked a 3night4day package at the HNY Tues 13th - Fri 17th Feb (NEXT WEEK YAY!!!!)

This package gives me a ticket for Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri. I'm driving down from Northern England so the journey will take the best part of 9 hours so I've booked a Best Western about 6miles from Disney - bed and breakfast for 4 people for £51 (E70?). We'll drive down to that on the Monday.

This means we can get up on the first morning and collect our park tickets from the hotel. So we effectively get an extra day in the park for £51.

In your position and with a specific figure of E500 in mind I'd take the 4N/5D in the Lakeview SL and spend the savings on a character meal or 2.

We do this every time and the price for the first and last night is not included in this 500€! We usualy stay the frist night at the airport and the last night at the Holiday Inn near DLRP! That means if we book 3n/4d we do have 4 whole days at the parks! :hippie:

No not yet! This is such a hard decission!

But now there are only two hotels to choose from!

Hotel New York Lakeview 4 nights and 5 days or
Seqouia Lodge Montana Lake view 4 nights and 5 days.

DLH is too expensive :sad1: and NPBC is out because we stayed there the last time!

I will keep you up to date! :thumbsup2

By the way: Which hotel would you choose from this 2? ;)

I love the hotel new york, so I would choose the hotel new york.
I have only stayed at the Hotel New york and DLH.

I am staying in the HNY next week. I mainly chose it because on my past trips I have always stayed in the Santa Fe. As I've walked past it numerous times on the way to the parks and village I'd always promised myself I would stay in HNY one day. This year, the price difference didn't seem that great so I bit the bullet.

Only you can decide - especially having been in them both before. You have to decide whether the extra E100 is worth the HNY? Or would you rather spend that E100 on something else while you are on the trip?

I stayed in the HNY in December and LOVED it. The breakfast was fantastic and not the mad rush that I've read about with some of the other hotels.

As you've stayed in them all I'm sire you have a better idea than any of us.

Good luck and let us know what you decided.

P.S. if you were still discussing the first part of your thread I'd have gone with the DLH as I've never stayed there

Sorry to hijack the thread - but I was just going to ask higgy a question seeing as she has recent experience of HNY.

Basically, anything I should know or ask for when I check in? - I've stayed at disney hotels before so I know to ask for my hotel card for paying for things - and booking any extras as I check in (if I don't do them before)

IS it worth being cheeky and asking for a specific area to be located in? I'm going to the hotel early morning (well before I am allowed to check in) to get my park tickets and then check in later on. That should give them time to try sort any special requests I might have - any tips on requesting specific locations would be welcome.

Looking forward to it now....... :yay:

I'd suggest contacting the hotel direct a week before you are due to arrive (see Sticky for details). This way hotel management may have a chance to fulfil your request :)

Ah but I don't know what to request - what would be a good request to make to get the best out of HNY?

I would go for the HNY as it is my favourite. I like the adult feeling.

Either "lake view" or "ice rink view". Lake view rooms cost extra, but if you are visiting at a quiet time, you might get a free upgrade. I don't know if the ice rink view is the same as the lake view, but there may be some rooms that can only see the ice rink and not the lake - and so don't cost more!!! That would be my request - for me, the ice rink really adds to the HNY atmosphere :cloud9:
