PLEASE help- Keen Venice H2 anyone?!

I just bought the Keen Venice H2 today. Has anyone tried on both this and the Keen Newport H2? Regarding the Venice--- I'm worried I bought the wrong size. The 8.5 feels good in the ankle (not too loose) but my toes touch the front and I'm worried that (as the salesperson said) my toenail will get damaged. The 9 feels okay, but it is a bit loose in the ankle- even when I pull the cord real tight. So which should I get? They seem like great shoes. As for the Newport, it was okay, but not as open feeling as the Venice. UGH! Any ideas?

I have the H2s. I thought they ran on the small side and got a 1/2 size bigger than usual.
I haven't gotten to do any serious walking in them yet but I'll have them well broken in for my next trip!

Do you have the Venice H2 or the Newport H2? Does your heel slip at all in the size you got? Do you have to tighten them alot with the pull cord? I'm just worried that the smaller size is going to end of bothering my toes....Thanks!

I have several pairs of Keens including Newport H2s. I would suggest you get the bigger pair so your toes don't touch.

As far as your heel moving, I find the sandals are much better with a pair of socks. I find my soles rub too much against the shoe. I have switched to Merrell sandals for this reason.

I have the newport H2s. The footbed does seem to get a little warm in bare feet but I just can't do the sock and sandal thing. The Venice H2 do look breezier. I don't have to tighten them alot. They stay put pretty well. I got them at the end of last summer so I haven't done a lot of walking in them yet. Only worn them a few times so far. I would go with the bigger size. I ordered them on line but because I heard how small they run I waited until I could try them on in a store first.
