My husband just announced last night that we should go to Disney the week before Christmas. He is off work and the kids would need to take Mon and Tues off school. I'd LOVE to go, but don't even know where to begin!! We have a family of 5 so we need more than a regular hotel room, either 2 rooms or a condo/home. The budget is limited and we will only do 1-2 park days and the rest just enjoying the resorts, etc. Can it be done? I'm not certain - my spontaneous days are gone :rotfl: HELP!

What's your budget per night? The Sheraton Vistana has 2 bed 2 bath, kit, FR ....heated pool, activities for the kids in the ballpark of 150-160 a night. Down the road closer to DTD is the Staybridge Suites same set-up but don't know about the heated pool...there is a pool. No activities.....free cont. breakfast. Have gotten that for an internet special of 99 a night. Good luck!

Hotelkingdom.com has Cypress Palms Resort 2 BR for $88.50 for 12/18 - 12/24. They idd not ahve anything for 12/25. There was also lots of other places at various prices.

The $88.50 is closer to our budget, we were hoping to get $100 per night or less. I will search the boards for reviews of Cypress Palms - sounds like a great deal and we will leave Dec 24 so that would work great!!! :earsgirl:

Hotel Kingdom also lists availability at the Buena Vista Suites on 535 for $89 per night during your dates. The rooms sleep six according to the description.

I haven't stayed there but it's in a good location and I'm sure there are reviews on here as well to give you some feedback.

I would love to see the resorts decorated for the holiday season. That might be a nice way to spend a day (skip the parks and just tour the resorts)

You might also want to check vrbo for any openings on a condo for that week. Since there are so many out there it's certainly possible for there to be availability in one. You might even get a 2 or 3 bedroom for the same price or less as what's showing on Hotel Kingdom.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

I would also check trip advisor.com and see what they say..what days exactly, do you want to stay in the park or out

We are going to be staying at Buena Vista Suites. It accomodates 5, and it was only $88 a night. Just look up at the top of the Dis Board and click on reservations, you will find the deal there.

I'm going to throw sone other ideas into the mix. We have had very good luck using skyauction.com. There should be availability for the week you are looking at for a 2bdrm condo at Sheraton Vistana or some of the other top resorts. If you go with a Ready,Set, Go auction, you will probably pay around $250 (including all fees) for the week. Since you are planning on having lots of down time enjoying the resort, somewhere like Vistana, Orange Lake Country Club, or Cypress Point Grand Villa's would be ideal with their multiple pool areas. Also, since you will have the time, you could consider taking advantage of the time share presentations. You would usually get a couple of adult tickets for free to a theme park of your choice, and it takes about 1.5 - 2 hours of your time. That might be a good way to stretch your budget to include a third park visit.

I highly recommend attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party as your MK day. The tickets to the party are less expensive than a one day ticket, and they will let you in as early as 4 pm. It goes until midnight, so if you can last that long, you would have a full 8 hours in the park. It is great to be able to see most attractions with little or no wait time. They also give out hot chocolate and cookies, and have a beautiful Christmas parade. The price includes a free family photo as well.

Also, if you've been considering giving Universal/ Island of Adventure a try they have a special on right now where you can buy an adult 2 day/2 park ticket and get a child's ticket for free. In addition, they also add another 2 days to the ticket so you get 4 days/ 2 parks, and a free child's ticket for about $100. We absolutely LOVE US/IOA.

Seaworld tickets also include a second visit free, as long as it's used within 7 days, so 2 days activities for the price of one visit.

Hope this helps, have a great vacation!

Check eBay. There are many christmas weeks up for auction that others are unable to use. You can get a great deal even though it is last minute. Do a search on Orlando in the travel area.

I checked SkyAuction for their timeframe, and nothing was available, either regular auctions or RSG. That's why I did not recommend it on my previous message. Hopefully the townhouses will work out for them.

THank you all so much! I also checked Skyauction and didn't find anything. I hadn't thought of the timeshare presentation, though. I did find several things on the tugbbs boards but nothing as inexpensive as the WIndsor Hills townhomes. We did MVMCP last time we were there and loved it as wee as the candlelight processional. I can't decide which park to do, but we can likely only do one. Maybe MGM - I don't know!!! SUch an exciting decision!!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your stay in Windsor Hills. We are booked to stay in a home there in July 2006 and we can't wait. I think the townhome is a great idea and it provides you with some great options for "downtime" and relaxing. The resort sounds wonderful and I'm sure the townhouse will be fabulous. Have a great trip!

Me, too! :wave2:

We booked a 3BD, 2BA townhouse with a pool view at Windsor Hills for the beginning of January and got a great price. :flower:

Actually, DD and I booked an impromtu trip to the World this weekend to see the Christmas decorations which we love :lovestruc. Just couldn't resist that great Jet Blue airfare! There is something very special about Disney at this time of year... it definitely brings out the holiday spirit.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is definitely a winner... we have tickets for Sunday. We also adore the Osborne lights at MGM... spectacular!
