Here is the response that I got from Norton tech support. Basically, it says that we should be using the Ingelligent Updater which is fine but I tried that yesterday too and it also wasn't working for me. Did everyone get theirs downloaded and working correctly now? I am wondering if all of us that had the problem all have the same version? Mine is 2005 Internet Security. Anyone else? Perhaps it was only a problem with the 2005 version. Anyway, hope everyone is all set now and just wanted to let you read the response that I got.
Thank you for contacting Symantec Online Technical Support.
I understand from your message that you are receiving an Outbreak Alert from Norton Internet Security (NIS) that you are not protected from 'Trojan.Peacomm'.
Kimberly, this issue can be caused if the virus definitions for your Norton product was not completely downloaded on your system. In order to resolve this issue, please update the virus definitions using the Intelligent Updater.
The Intelligent Updater is available as either one large file, or several smaller files. The large file is best for users that have network or dial-up connections to the Internet. The smaller files may be copied to floppy disks, and used to update computers that do not have Internet access.
For information on how to update your Virus Definition files using the Intelligent Updater, please see our online document, located at the following Web address:
