Hi everyone!! Being the compulsive Disney Traveler that I have become, I was serching online tonight for our next Disney Vacation...*meanwhile, still have one planned that we are waiting to enjoy 5 months from now..but not the point. * lol

Anyway.. I was researching DCL and it sounds wonderful!! We also found a GREAT price..and thought, i have to do this. It is not until Dec. of 2006..but I had a few questions for everyone to see if this is something my family would even enjoy..so here it goes..

We are a family of 3, our dd is 4, she will be a few months short of 5 when we go. Will there be alot for her to do?

How do the kids clubs work? Do they give mom and dad beepers of some sort?

We are thinking of the Western Carr., is this a good itinerary?

Do they have the sundae bars, and such that kids enjoy?

Are there any books that I could buy that would enhance my knowledge on the DCL???

Thanks so much for your help. We appreciate it.

Nicole

Let me try to answer some of your questions.

1. You can sign up for the kids clubs inside the terminal near where you go through the Mickey head. If you were a return cruiser, you could do it online either 75 or 90 days out.
2. Yes, they give parents beepers that the counselors will set off when the child wants to contact the parent.
3. You will get a varying opinion on whether the eastern or the western is better. Any Disney cruise is great!!!
4. Not a sundae bar, but an ice cream stand called Scoops on Deck 10
5. The book that is the most popular on the boards is The Passporter. You can get it at Barnes and Noble or at the Passporter site.
6. And sorry for going out of order, your DD will have a great time. Just keep reading this board. The people are very informative. Many people on here have children that you will get great ideas from.

The Passporter is an awesome book!! Highly recommend that!!

Also for DD there will be lots to do - Tea with Wendy, they also haev a character breakfast....I think for the most part most kids enjoy the kid's clubs as well. There are dinner shows, movies theatres and tons of fun things to do as a family like kite making, vegetable races etc...and there are lots to do as a couple of adults too!!
Check out castawayclub DOT COM (I guess we can't put web addresses??)for "Navigators" which will give you ideas as to everything that is going on - on the ship.

Enjoy!

Also if you go to All Ears Net and click on the Magical Disney Cruise Guide, it will answer pretty much all of your questions. But your best location for information is of course here. Ask away, everyone here is happy to answer them. Have fun!

You can order Mickey Bars :mickeybar from room service. Passporter for DCL. Pagers worked great for us when our DS6 was at the club. Western is a nice itinerary. Grand Cayman has Stingray City which your family may enjoy. Cozumel is supposed to be great as well. Have not been to KW, but then there is always Castaway Cay. You will love it. Give it a try and have a great time.
