I am going to WDW for my 16th birthday with my mom and my best friend who will be 15 at the time. My mom told me that I could choose what ever hotel that I wanted or even a villa. I narrowed my choices down to two. And I was wondering if you could help me.
My choices are BoardWalk Villas(one bedroom villa)
or Saratoga Springs Villa(one bedroom villa)

I don't know much about Saratogo Springs, so any information that you can give me will help. Thanks!

The Boardwalk has a lot going on there, and it's walking distance to Epcot and MGM. Saratoga Springs is close to DTD and has the Spa. I personally like the Epcot resorts area better than others, but I wouldn't mind staying at SSR either. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice!

HI!
I have not been to either of the places that you mentioned but I was wondering if a beach club villa would be possible? The beach and yacht club are my favorite hotels. Have you ever been? If you are a pool person this is the best place in the world, espcially for your age group.

The thing is, my friend hasn't been to disney as many times as I have and I want her to enjoy Disney as much as I do, but she does get distracted by pools easily, and I don't want her to want to be at the pool all the time. But thanks!

I would pick the Boardwalk out of the two...there is so much going on in that area..you could walk to Epcot or MGM, or over to Beaches and Cream, theres the Bakery at the Boardwalk. Definitely a good choice.

When we take people to Disney who've never been we take them to the Boardwalk (which happens to be our home resort). It's beautiful, fun, convenient to so much and everyone has loved it. I have to say it's my favorite resort at Disney. We always have park hopping passes so we end up almost every day at EPCOT then take the boat or walk "home". Hope you have a great time! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Haven't stayed at BWV, but just to give some support to SSR. If your friend likes to shop, then SSR might be a nice choice since it's right next to Downtown Disney. We stayed in Congress Park at SSR in the building closest to DTD and it only took about 5 minutes to walk over there. Lots of good restaurants, too. I really liked the pool and spa at SSR as well.

BW is nice for the restaurants and being close to EPCOT, so it just depends on what you're looking for. Beware DVC owners will tend to tell you to go to whichever resort is their home - we are very loyal! (can you guess which one mine is??? :goodvibes )

The pool area is awesome at SSR, so she may be distracted by the pool. I know I was. The hotel is brand new, so everything is sparkling clean there, which I like a lot. If you like DTD, then SSR would be a huge draw.

Otherwise I would say go for Boardwalk. I love the proximity to Epcot. I've never stayed at Boardwalk but always wanted to. I always read great things about it on the boards. I think you will be happy with either resort.

boardwalk is a great location you can walk to epcot or take a boat and also take a boat to mgm. there are a lot of things to do on the boardwalk itself and the views from this resort are awesome. i love staying there because i just hate having to take the bus everywhere. which is why i'm a bit nervous about staying at the akl this month. i have to drag the stroller on and off. but, it really looks like a cool place to stay.

Thanks for everything. I think I am going to choose boardwalk, but first I want to compare the rooms. And I have stayed at AKL, Its one of my favorite hotels. You should try the buffet they have, I also think they have the best food court out of all the disney resorts I have stayed in.

All DVC rooms (as far as I'm aware), except for OKW, are layed out pretty much the same. The same square footage, the same amenities. The decor is what's different.

I've never been to either but as others have said, if you love Epcot and MGM and being in walking distance to them then I would choose the Boardwalk. Another thing, I love walking the Boardwalk at night with all the activities going on at night and you girls would probably love it.

Boardwalk. You can walk to Epcot, take the Monerail to the MK and the boat to MGM. What else can I say except a quality location and a beautiful resort with lots to do.
