Please help!! How busy is April??

My family was planning on going the 1st week of Feb, but was told the Super Bowl is on the 2-1-09. We are thinking of changing dates. What is April like?

Busy, very very Busy. Add to the normal Spring crowd that Easter falls in April again in 2009. I've been in September & April and the contrast is striking. We accomplished more in a single day in September than we could have in 3 days in April.
September: walk ons at Space Mountain, TTA & Buzz Lightyear, 20 min. at POC & Kilimajaro Safari. A relatively empty Main Street.
April: 2 hours are Soarin' with fast passes gone by noon, 90 minutes at POC, 60 minutes at Jungle Cruise. Main Street so crowded that you can't walk and can barely breathe!

We always go in the second or third week of April and Its just plain busy. A couple of years it was ridiculous crowds by 11am. We just left the parks all together and hung out at the resort pool... which by the way was also crowded. April is usually crowded and it doesnt matter if you find the least crowded park on that particular day or not. You will most likely encounter long waits at any of the popular attractions.

We have been there twice during the last week of April. It was busy but not crazy IMO. I have been told that the earlier weeks of April are crazy and I think the crowds also depend on when Easter falls that year.

Our kids spring break is always the 3rd week in April. So, that is when we are there. Sometimes it is the same as easter, other times not. In 2009 it will be the week after easter, but will still be crowded because many schools in new england and new york have their breaks then. However, even with crowds we always have a great time. and hardly ever wait in long lines. One thing we do which many people don't seem to like to do, is get up early and get to the parks at opening. We love to use the morning EMH at Epcot and the MK. We get to do a lot in that hour. You need to plan your days, be willing to change your plan if needed also. The last time we were there our break was the same week as easter. I don't remember waiting more than 30 minutes for anything. Our only bad experience was at AK. Everest had just opened, for the morning EMH they did not check ids, yet only had 3 turnstyles open to get into the park. It was a madhouse, the park was packed, could hardly move. We still did all we really wanted, with little waiting, but then left. It was hard to even walk around.
