Ok I don't really know where to post this but here goes...

This is my families FIRST time ever going to WDW and I need help with my ADR's. I changed my dates by a day went from 8/10-/16 and switched to 8/11-8/18. I went from 6 days on the dining plan to 5 days on the dinning plan (my dates weren't avail? I donno what happened but that's what the guy told me I had to do).
So I need to know if these are good and which one I should pay for out of pocket. We are really picky eaters so the buffets for best for us :)

It will be me(23) DH(23) DD(4) DS(1) and DSIL(17) Everyone but DH is a picky eater!

8/11- staying at AKL for the day and eating at boma or jiko? This one I am not sure about.

8/12- AK- Have breakfast at 8:50 at Chef Mickey

8/13-MK- Dinner at 1900 park fair @4:55

8/14-MK-breakfast at Crystal Palace @ 8:05

8/15-Epcot- taking daughter to BBB then we have dinner at princess story book Norway (don't have a time yet)

8/16- MK- Ohana breakfast

Any suggestions for 8/17-8/18?

One thought I have is your day on 8/12 is all over the place. Breakfast at 8:50 at Chef Mickey's - you'll be done around 10:00 am. Then you're hopping over to MGM, you'll probably get in the park around 11am, and only if you have your own vehicle - Disney transport could have you there anytime between 11 and 12. You're going to AK that afternoon and they close at 8 pm. that will give you a maximum of about four hours at each park, less if you're using Disney transportation. I'd try Hollywood and Vine for an earlier breakfast and skip Chef Mickey's that day.

Another thought is that just doing half a day at Epcot may not be enough for you for the entire trip. For many that's at a minimum a 1 day park, most make it a 2 day park. Especially since you're in DTD or MK for BBB today and doing AK - it'll be a lot of running around, and about three hours of the day will be on buses (or waiting for buses) going to DTD, Epcot, and AK.

I think on days that you hop you really only want to hop two places, unless you're driving yourself and can avoid the buses. Then you might not be too disappointed with doing three places in one day.

Everyone I talked to told me that the kids wont like Epcot or MGM, thats why I didnt plan on spending too mcuh time there. Once again I am totally NEW to all of this. And planning it all bymyself is hard. I feel like pulling my hair out!

My kids love Epcot!! It's a 2-day park for us!

Ok I changed my plans. Epcot-one day and AK-one day :cool1:
No more 1/2 days

I still have to call and see if I can get the meals that arent booked. Anyone know of others that are good for a 4 yo and a 1yo:confused3

Hi  First off, you are going to LOVE AKL! There is so much to see & do, I suggest you leave time in your schedule for exploring the lodge & doing some of the activities they have there with the kids. As for your ADR's, here is my opinion:

8/11- staying at AKL for the day and eating at boma or jiko? This one I am not sure about. I suggest Boma since it's a buffet & there is likely to be something there everyone will like.

8/12-going to MGM and AK- Have breakfast at 8:50 at Chef Mickey It would make more sense to go to MK after Chef Mickeys since you are right there anyway. You will waste time traveling to MGM

8/13-MK- Dinner at 1900 park fair @4:55

8/14-MK-breakfast at Crystal Palace @ 8:05

8/15-Epcot and AK- taking daughter to BBB then we have dinner at princess story book Norway (don't have a time yet)So are you going to Downtown for BBB, then to AK, then to Epcot for dinner? This is too much traveling. I would do BBB & Downtown Disney, then to Epcot for the afternoon and dinner.

8/16- MK- Ohana breakfast

One thing to remember is that Disney is a HUGE place. I think many newbies under-estimate how long it takes to get from place to place & over-estimate how much they can do.

You have made some great meal choices. I have done all of these & they are all good! Do you have your ADR's already? I am going in Sept. and wasn't able to get some the ADR's I wanted.

Yes, planning is hard! I am going on my 9th trip & still have a hard time working everything out. Read and learn as much as you can hear on the Dis & you will be fine :)

First a question: You said in your original post that you will be there for 7 nights, but that you only have 5 on the dining plan? Are you sure about that? Are you staying in 2 different places? What nights are you on the dining plan?

I'm asking these questions because your dining plan credits will not start until you check-in to the hotel that you are using the dining plan for, and they will expire at midnight on the day you check out. You need to make sure that your ADRs are bunched into those days.

I have kids the same age as yours.....here are our favorites:
Chef Mickey's : breakfast or dinner
Crystal Palace: breakfast or dinner...if you go for breakfast, try to get a time before the park opens
Tusker House breakfast: this is the only character meal in AK..lunch and dinner are not characters
Goofys Candy shop in DTD....make your own snacks!!
Hollywood and Vine breakfast, especially if your kids love Playhouse Disney
50's PTC in DHS
CRT ...... if you really want it and don't mind using 2 TS credits....... If I were you, I would wait on this one.

I have always had boys, and just now have a girl....so I can't speak for any of the Princess things....we are just going to start that on our next trip.

Especially with little ones, you need to minimize travel time by planning your ADRS for places that work with the park you are going to be in. For example, Chef Mickey's is best when you are going to be in the MK. It also can work if you are spending the day in Epcot. I would avoid traveling from the AKL to MK to walk to the Contemporary to then take a bus to either AK or DHS.

Thanks 1disneylvr:thumbsup2

I was also trying to go by the Unofficial guide to WDW's list of best and worst days to go to the parks. Its so confussing! But thanks alot!
